Call a halt.

"Everyone, stop! I need that meat to try something that might give us a major edge!" You cry out as the others gorge themselves on the Torturer's corpse, but when they turn to look at you it is mostly not with sapient minds. ~Dammit, the 'red rage', you think as you hastily draw your daggers.~

Most ghouls become frenzied eating machines when they have a fresh corpse to hand, unable to think clearly or respond rationally until their 'HUNGER' is satiated, sometimes even ignoring combat going on around them. You have broken this instinct in your own pack with years of combine negative and positive reinforcement, and for some reason you personally never were that way unless your 'HUNGER' meter is above 97%, but it seems the others, being that way themselves, were not able to accomplish that and now ready themselves to attack you with teeth and claws.

The fight is long, bloody, and bitter but you cannot win outnumbered two to one and with the sorceress having gained several levels. The one ghoul from your own pack who can still think clearly tries to help, but the others cut him down in seconds, the mage still able to use some of her spells by reflex alone. You are eventually brought down by your mindless brethren, never getting a chance to put your plan into motion.

Over the next few weeks you return to the Red **** Chamber each time you re-spawn as planed, but no one else ever shows up. Eventually you get sick of occasionally finding the Torturer in residence, who it seems harbors a grudge for you killing him, and give up. There was ONE shot, and you blew it, the others assume you are out for **** and IF they are still meeting they have arranged a new spot with the fourth pack leader to which you are not invited. You go on fighting the adventurers as you were created to do but the fire has gone out of you, and you never amount to much more than you were that fateful night, only managing to reach level 5 a few weeks before the game is taken off line a decade later: all the while cursing yourself for a fool...
