Chapter 8

What's next?
Call Ericka
You decide to give Ericka, one of your best friends, a call. It's been months -- or more. She answers, and is QUITE happy to hear from you! She asks how you're doing, and you reply pretty shortly before returning the question. And she... GUSHES in response. She's planning a new vacation with her hubby to take their kid to Disney -- isn't it too soon?? But she describes a little girl older than a toddler, able to speak and read, and you slowly realize you've kinda left Ericka on the back burner longer than you thought...
You're glad you called her, in that case, but then as the conversation goes, you kind of realize you can't comment very much on the things she mentions, besides the precursory acknowledgements. Between being married, and parenting, and being so BUSY! Being a housewife! You mention, in passing and in attempt to wrangle things at least somewhat closer to a relatable frame, that you still have the custom bottle of wine from her wedding. She beams, until you mention it still has wine in it, and tells you to throw it out, what if it went bad, etc. {if Total Wine>3}You reply it's actually still fine, and you've been enjoying it lately. She's somewhat skeptical, but otherwise dismisses the idea and goes on to say she WISHES she could have a glass of wine every now and then. So, SHE can envy you TOO, huh. --Wait, since when was anyone envying anyone..?{endif}
You barely open your mouth to try to talk about more relevant things, like how you two used to party, when she interrupts you, loudly saying she's got to go, as chaos and screaming erupts in the background, and instantly becomes a click and silence. ...Well, then.
What's next?
The dangers of mild success
How getting your groove back is wildly overrated
A short, mildly ridiculous story for me to get acquainted with CHYOA. It primarily involves Intoxication Fetish. If you don't share this appreciation -- and, statistically you don't -- this will seem kind of strange to you. I am figuring everything out on the fly, not interested in imitating other stories around here for reference and my goal is fun. I'll take constructive criticism, though I can't imagine who would have advice for what I'm trying to do, here.
