Chapter 3 by Krakatowa Krakatowa

What will he do?

Call Customer service

Arthur hesitated for a moment, but then he pulled out his phone.

As tempting as the ticket was, it was not his. And Arthur was no thief.

'If I ever get a lawsuit for using this, it's going to cost far more than it's worth.'

Arthur begrudgingly pulled out his phone and dialed the Customer service number.

"Good afternoon. This is the customer service for RealDreams Co., where we bring your dreams into reality.

My name is Bryce. What can I help with you?"

"Uh, I found a golden ticket that says [Free Character of your choice] on the ground? It said on the back to call Customer service, so..."

"Ah, I see."

Arthur waited as a couple of typing sounds could be heard from the background.

Soon enough, Bryce came back on the phone.

"Can you see the ID of the ticket? It's written on the left corner of the back of the ticket."

"Left corner...ah, I see it."

"Can you read it out for me, please?"

"4198535."

Another round of typing sounds.

"Thank you, sir. I've just put the ticket as missing. As soon as the owner contacts us, we'll let you know."

"Oh, okay...so I should keep this until you guys call me again?"

"Oh, no."

Bryce chuckled as if what Arthur said was absolutely absurd.

"We'll be sending someone to collect the ticket soon. Are you currently at your household?"

"No, I'm outside. I'm actually on my way to the work shift, so I won't be home for a few hours."

"I see... give me a minute."

Arthur frowned as Bryce went off the line for the third time.

Whatever this ticket was, it seemed to be something far more important than a simple get-one-character-free coupon.

After a long pause, Bryce came back on the line again.

"Then, can you give us the address to your workplace? We'll send someone their to collect it."

"Sure."

Arthur told them the address of the small convenience store he was heading towards.

"Thank you for calling Customer Service. We'll be collecting the ticket soon."

"Hey, what is the deal with this ticket, anyway?"

For a moment, Bryce paused from the other side of the phone line.

"That's... not in my place to explain, unfortunately. Please understand."

Arthur frowned.

Now, he was really intrigued.

But, at the same time, he knew pestering a simple worker wouldn't get him any results.

"Yeah, okay."

"Thank you."

Arthur hung up the call.

He put the ticket carefully into his pocket and headed to the store.

It was a weird event, but in the end, it all seemed to wrap up nicely.

'Just another day...'

Arthur thought to himself as he headed to the store.

Or is it?
