CHAPTER 3 - The Roommate

Miseo sat cross-legged on her bed, a pile of clothes and personal items spread around her as she prepared for her big move into Starlight Entertainment's trainee dormitories. Her phone was propped up against a stack of books, capturing the moment for her growing Instagram audience. With a flirty grin, she began streaming live while she worked.

"Hey everyone! It's your favorite sexy idol-to-be, Miseo!" She batted her long lashes as she gave the camera a sultry look. "Today is a big day - I'm packing up my stuff to move into the Starlight Entertainment trainee dorms! Can you believe it? I blew away the CEO so much that he offered me four whole months to perfect my dancing and singing skills!" She winked suggestively.

The comments were a flood of varying emojis and congratulations. Miseo continued packing while sharing details about her upcoming journey. "So, as you can see, I have way too many clothes for just four months," she said as she held up a skimpy bodysuit. "But don't worry - I know I'll be needing at least one sexy outfit per day to keep my fellow trainers motivated!"

Miseo tossed the bodysuit into her suitcase with a giggle and grabbed a pink lace bra next. "And this?" She paused dramatically, giving her viewers a sneak peek under her shirt before tossing it in as well. "This little number might come in handy during a late-night study session..."

With a playful grin, she moved on to packing her makeup bag, pulling out a vibrant red lipstick and applying it liberally to her plump lips. "Don't forget," she said with a smirk, "Miseo always makes an entrance." She tossed the lipstick into her bag and continued packing.

"Now, let's talk about what I won't be bringing," Miseo said as she set aside a stack of books on dance techniques. "Turns out my two left feet are quite famous in these parts, so no need to carry those around. Besides, I'll have professional instructors teaching me how to move like the pros!"

The camera zoomed in as Miseo picked up a box containing various sex toys. "And last but not least," she purred, "I won't be needing these...playthings." With a devilish grin, she dropped them into her suitcase before zipping it shut.

"But seriously, everyone," Miseo said as she stood up from her bed, gathering her belongings. "This is an incredible opportunity, and I won't let anyone down – especially me!" She gave a final wave to her viewers before disappearing behind her bedroom door.

As the livestream ended, Miseo headed off to Starlight Entertainment with high hopes and a determined spirit, ready to prove that she had more than just sexual prowess up her sleeve.

Miseo, brimming with excitement and anxiety, strolled down the dormitory hallway of Starlight Entertainment, her suitcase in tow. As she approached her room number, her eyes locked onto a familiar figure emerging from one of the doorways - it was Haneul, the shy girl who had auditioned alongside Miseo just last week. A smile lit up Haneul's face as she greeted her new roommate warmly.

Miseo returned the smile and introduced herself with a playful wink. "Oh my god, hi! I remember you! Haneul!”

Haneul nodded eagerly. “And you’re… sorry. I don’t think I got your name last time.”

Miseo let her luggage collapse onto the floor. “I'm Miseo... or you can call me Mis-Easy for short." Haneul tilted her head in confusion, counting the syllables of both names on her fingers.

She laughed softly at Haneul's gesture. "Well, some things are better left unsaid. Let's just say 'Mis-Easy' suits me a bit more." She gave Haneul a playful wink as she picked up her luggage. “It’s my Instagram handle, so everyone just calls me that.”

Haneul showed Miseo to their room. It was simple, with a small bedframe on each side, and a few generic furniture pieces – a desk here, a wardrobe there. It was an empty canvas awaiting the strokes of their individuality as they settled into this new chapter of their lives. They began unpacking their belongings side by side.

“So, how are you feeling? I’m so excited to be here!” Miseo exclaimed, breaking the silence.

Haneul stayed focused on her task. "Nervous, I guess? But it's really nice to have someone I recognize."

Miseo moved to grasp Haneul's hand firmly. "I - completely get you girl. Now, let's make this room feel like home!"

As the two continued to get settled into their newly shared space, Haneul couldn't help but broach the subject that had been lingering in her thoughts since they met. "I... I remember seeing you leave your audition," she said softly, her voice tinged with concern. "But it looked like they didn’t select you.”

Miseo plucked a pair of colorful socks from her suitcase and began folding them methodically. "Well," she started with a sigh, "after the audition, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment contacted me the next day to review my audition footage.”

Haneul's eyes widened in surprise as she listened to her roommate's story. "And... then what happened?" she asked tentatively, eager to hear the outcome.

Miseo winked with a sly grin. "I impressed the CEO during my meeting with him - not through my dancing or singing skills, mind you - but something else caught his attention." She paused dramatically before adding, "He offered me a spot in their trainee program for four months, giving me a chance to prove myself."

Haneul's jaw dropped at this revelation. The idea of Miseo's unique talents securing her a spot as a trainee seemed almost unbelievable - yet there she was, standing before Haneul as proof that dreams could indeed come true.

As Haneul processed Miseo's incredible story of second chances and unexpected opportunities, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. Comparing her own reserved nature to Miseo's captivating charisma, she wondered if she would ever possess the same kind of magnetism that had drawn the attention of Starlight Entertainment's CEO. Or perhaps, Miseo was actually good at dancing and singing, but just happened to bomb her audition?

Curious about Haneul's experience during her audition, Miseo gently nudged her roommate. "So," she began with a soft smile, "I know how competitive these auditions can be – how did yours go?"

Haneul hesitated for a moment before responding. "Well…" she started sheepishly, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. "The judges did see potential in me, but it wasn't easy by any means." She ran a hand through her messy hair as she continued.

"My nerves got the better of me during my performance," Haneul confessed with a faint blush on her cheeks. "I fumbled a bit through both my dance and singing routines, but I guess they saw something in me worth developing." Her voice trailed off as she finished her story.

Miseo listened intently to her roommate's experience, nodding empathetically at the mention of nerves getting in the way. "You know," she said with an encouraging smile, "I can see it too!"

Haneul blushed, unsure of how to respond. “Th… thanks.” She whispered.

After they finished, Miseo collapsed onto her bed, but couldn't help but notice an intriguing item amidst Haneul's belongings – a sleek acoustic guitar peeking out from between stacks of books and clothes. Her curiosity piqued and she hopped onto her roommate’s bed with a smile and said, "Hey Haneul! That guitar looks amazing. Would you mind playing a song for me?"

Hesitation flickered across Haneul's face as she stared down at the guitar in her lap. She had never been particularly comfortable showcasing her musical talents to strangers but felt compelled to comply with Miseo's request due to their newfound camaraderie.

Haneul paused for a moment, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she nodded reluctantly. "Sure... but please don't expect too much," she muttered shyly before picking up the guitar and adjusting its position on her lap.

As Haneul began strumming the strings, a transformation occurred before Miseo's eyes. Her nervous roommate seemed to shed her insecurities like a second skin as every chord resonated perfectly through the air. The melodies that followed were nothing short of ethereal - each note a siren's lullaby that captivated Miseo's senses.

Awe washed over Miseo as she watched Haneul effortlessly coax beautiful music from her guitar. When the final chord rang out, filling their room with its haunting melody, Miseo burst into a spontaneous cheer and exclaimed, "Oh my god! You're so incredibly talented!" Her enthusiasm was contagious as she praised her shy new friend for her hidden musical gift.

Haneul blinked in surprise at Miseo's enthusiastic praise before lowering her gaze shyly. She managed a faint smile as she responded to Miseo's praise with humility. "Thank you... but please don't make too much of it," she murmured softly, her gaze fixed on the floor. She didn't want to appear ungrateful for the kind words but struggled to find the right response for the unexpected attention.

Miseo's eye suddenly caught sight of a familiar album hanging on Haneul's desk - it was none other than STARLIGHT, the very same popular K-pop girl group that had captured her heart with their catchy tunes and flawless choreography. Without thinking twice, she enthusiastically pointed at her desk and said, "Oh my gosh! You love STARLIGHT too?"

Haneul nodded excitedly as she readied her guitar once more. "Of course! Their music has always inspired me," she admitted with a smile before strumming the opening chords of one their hit songs.

As the melody filled their room, Haneul began singing in a melodious voice that resonated beautifully within its harmonies. Miseo, feeling empowered by her newfound friendship with Haneul, joined in enthusiastically - though her vocals were off-key at best.

Yet, as Miseo’s voice went off-key, Haneul would shift the chords to complement her. The two young women giggled and laughed as they sang together, their voices blending into a chaotic yet charming harmony that filled the space between them.

When they finally finished their impromptu duet, Haneul smiled kindly at Miseo's unpolished rendition, knowing full well that everyone had to start somewhere.

Miseo laughed good-naturedly about her less-than-stellar performance and turned to Haneul with a playful wink. "Don't worry," she said reassuringly, "I'm sure I'll improve under Starlight Entertainment's training." Miseo gave Haneul a hug and returned to her side of the room.

Miseo laid out onto her bed and doom scrolled through her social media feed. She couldn’t help but think about Haneul. As she recalled her new roommate performing effortlessly on the guitar with her angelic voice filling their shared space, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of admiration and envy. Here was a person who possessed an undeniable talent - one that seemed to come naturally without any need for polishing or practice.

Despite this sudden realization of her own shortcomings in comparison to Haneul, Miseo remained determined not to let it dampen her spirits. Instead, she saw their differences as an opportunity to learn from each other and grow together during their training at Starlight Entertainment.

On the other side of the room, as Haneul tuned her guitar, she couldn't help but marvel at Miseo's infectious energy and charismatic charm. While her own nature tended towards shyness and reserve, watching how easily people gravitated toward Miseo made her realize the power of confidence and self-assuredness.

Haneul knew she had much to learn from her extroverted roommate - not just musically but also in terms of stage presence and capturing an audience's attention. As they continued living together under one roof, working towards their shared dream of becoming K-pop idols, both Miseo and Haneul found themselves growing as individuals while fostering a bond that would carry them through countless challenges ahead.
