Where's your host at?

But before that, a status update.

Chapter 69 by Impregmaniac

Floating along in the sky, letting the breeze take you where they wish, digesting your last meal, you lazily watch the mortals down below. Sighing and smiling softly, you muse at their short, meaningless lives, when your curiosity starts to get to you. You wonder about the progress of your contract with your host. Tearing a window in reality next to you, you take a look around for the scribe demon that you summoned to deal with the paperwork.

A couple of minutes pass, but you eventually find him, aged and decrepit from decades of waiting in line. Luckily for him though, there's about three or four more demons ahead of him before it's his turn. "How's it going?" you ask.

His head snaps towards you, and he has to squint through his thick glasses before he recognizes you. "Oh! Mistress!" he replies, bowing his head and holding up the contract in his shaky wrinkled hands. "The contract has received it's first signature. It just needs one more from that big oaf's boss over there, and it'll be good to go! I'm so sorry it took so long, Mistress. There was a Banshee and a Siren here about ten years ago, screaming about this and that, and well..."

"Say no more. I understand," you nod. Looking around, you see that the big oaf that your demon mentioned is an ogre. You roll your eyes and scoff to yourself. No wonder it took so long. Their brains are smaller than peas. Hanging your head, you recognize where you're floating over, and a wicked smile creeps across your face as an idea pops into your head. "Give me a second. I'll be right there."

Given that you've just fed, and that your host is still alive, it's easy for you to jump back to the mortal plane when your business is done. Widening the tear, you step through it, to the Requests and Wishes Processing Office. The other lesser demons back away and bow their heads when you arrive, as is befitting a being of your rank. Taking the contract from your demon, you march straight to the counter and wait patiently for Nrak, as his name plaque says, to finish with his current client. That takes about a week on this plane, but soon enough, the ogre rings the bell and lets out a droll and dumb-sounding "Next!"

You smile warmly at him and use the demon who was supposed to be next as a seat. "Hello there, Nrak. I am Miss Selas of House Lusandar. We've met before, if you don't remember. How are you?"

"Uh... I'm doing okay, Ms. Selas," he responds, idly scratching his armpit, before digging his nose with the same finger. "How uh... how... how can I help you?"

"Well, I've got this little contract here," you say, sliding it over to him, before lying through your fangs. "And I was thinking of putting in a little addendum. I talked it over with my human host and he's perfectly happy for me to do it, and he can't wait for the contract to be processed."

Picking up the contract, Nrak studies it very intently. Well, as intently as he can with his eyes looking in either direction. "And uh, what is the addendum?" Looking around conspiratorially, you lean over and whisper it into his ear. "Oh. Um... I, I, I don't know about that Ms. Selas. It's a, it's a tricky little uh... thing there that you wanna do. I, I, dunno if I can process that."

"Oh come on, Nrak! We're old friends!" you pout, leaning forwards and pushing your breasts together suggestively with your arms. "I'd be really grateful and would do anything, and I do mean anything, if you could do that for me."

You can see the single cog in his head turn slowly. His mouth opens and he lets out a long sound, a globule of drool starting to fall out, when a brick lands on his head. "OW! What was- oh, there's a message on that. Hang on." Taking the sheet off the brick, he gives it a quick read. "Oh okay. Ms. Selas, the boss wants to see you directly because of your addendum request." Reaching out next to him, he grabs another smaller demon in his massive fist and crams your contract and the message into it's mouth. "You take Ms. Selas to go see the boss, and give him that contract. Got it? He want's to see her about it."

The demon nods furiously and as a reward, gets dropped on your side of the counter. "Well, thank you very much for your help, Nrak," you reply, getting up and smiling at him. "I appreciate everything you have done for me." He nods deeply, insanely proud to be of service to you, before ringing the bell for his next client. Following the new demon, you make a few more adjustments to your look.

The boss will see things your way. All they need is the right... convincing.
