But What Does It All Mean?

"Aha!" Jen Walters said adjusting her glasses. She liked them as they were useful but she didn't needed them but they helped her feel like "Jen the Lawyer" and not like some ridiculous "She-Hulk, Attorny at Law" or something silly... plus they made her look hot! Smart and sexy... and she'd caught Walter staring a few times. She was going to enjoy being his "personal" Lawyer.

"Here it is," She said continuing. "According to the Character Management Act, special states of emergency can be declared requiring Character Owners to "spend time seeing to their Characters needs". They recognize that relationships of any kind can be volatile and owning multiple Characters in a harem, of any kind, only more so. Apparently in the past when one harem would run amok or go berserk it could create an effect where associated other harems of Characters would sometimes feel stressed and follow suit if they weren't placated or pacified in some way." She smiled but shook her head. "Smart, if a bit twisted. No wants a riot and masters definitely don't want a revolt on their hands. Owners are tasked by the Prime government to "Restrain, discipline, placate and pacify their property as they see fit" and are given time off, with financial reimbursement, to do so. Basically Prime makes the Owners have to solve any problems before they get out of hand and the government has to step in. Walt's gotten a pass for years since most of his Characters were the companies and not directly "his" and the few characters he did directly own were AI, robots and droids which get a pass in subsection A."

"Not anymore, apparently," Walt said with a sigh. "A whole week, huh?"

"It does say here that you can work from home but "the Owner must make the prioritization of the mandate to preserve the status quo their primary focus", end quote." She-Hulk grinned. "Basically you need to keep an eye on us and keep us from running wild! You could just lock us up until this all blows over," She teased. "Make it easy on yourself!"

Walt shook his head. "Not my cup of tea and besides I'd still be stuck "at home" anyway." He blinked then facepalmed. "Which means I need to go out for supplies for us to weather this out before the lock down begins and the crowds get out of control!" He sighed. "Freaking Prime!"

Kali clapped her hands. "Alright, ladies! Shopping list time! Go through your individual supplies and access what you personally need for the week. Then kitchen staff check your individual areas of responsibility and report back to me!"

Lifts-Her-Tail smiled and nodded. "Maid and household team, same thing! Check your personal needs then check and help me compile a list of the different things needed to meet the homes needs, please. Roberta, toiletries. Sayoko, cleaning supplies. Haruhime, Haruna, laundry supplies. Manami, help Kali and I compile the master list."

"Yes, Head maid," they said.

"Ahnassi will check the wine and drinks after her own needs, yes," she announced with a smile sure she could find a few drinks they needed after all of their recent parties... and parties to come! "Libations will help make the week pass smoothly, yes? Murr!"

"Okay, Work Teams," Sasha said with a smile and a clear voice. "Same thing. Split up into groups and check the tool sheds, fuel reserves, supply stock and report back to me. I'll be in the barns checking the feed and tackle situation."

"Och! Ah wull gie ye a haun," Merida said. Sasha blinked and Merida muttered, "Help ma boab," before she tried again. "Ah... wull help ye... in th' barns," she said slowly pointing to herself, Sasha and then towards the barns.

Sasha smiled and clapped her on the back. "Alright! Thanks for volunteering, Merida! Let's go!"

"Ye're welcome!" she said happily.

KL-E-O organized a team to check the armory and then Curie and PAM assembled a team to go through the labs and so on. Walt watched as the most of the ladies sprang into action. Even Ilulu and Nora went on the pretext of checking the snack situation... though he was pretty sure that would just lead to less snacks over all. He sighed but smiled. "Well guess I better stop belly aching about something that can't be helped, huh?"

Penny nodded and smiled. "I know that the timing is less than optimal but it is not all bad. You can work from home for a bit and then continue your investigations. And..."

He smiled and nodded. "Yup. And I can spend more time with all of you. That is what is most important to me." He stood and took her hand kissing her cheek.

Penny smiled and nodded. "That is what is most important to us as well! And the base is right next door. It's technically a part of home if you really need to do something or visit Marvel!"

Walt smiled. "That is true too! Technically that is a part of home as well! You're so smart!" He kissed her cheek then shrugged. "I guess we'll just have to wait on the investigation or do some digging around from home. Yeah the timing is bad but that's just how things go sometimes."

Neo nodded holding up her phone. [Dates]

Walt blinked but Penny and Pyrrha nodded. "She's got a point," Pyrrha said.

She-Hulk smiled and nodded as did Gwen and Jubilee added, "You got a bunch of ladies you promised to spend time with, right? The ones here and then back in Marvel there's Emma and Ororo too, yeah?"

Gwen added. "And Ms Potts. You should spend time with Pepper. This is a chance for the both of you to take "time off" of a sort."

"Oh yes!" Penny said. "And your other relationships as well!"

"You should call Carrie," Raven said with the ghost of a smile. "See if she has any time off coming up. Maybe she can squeeze you in."

Walt nodded. They had a point and he added to his "to do" list that Sasha had made him all to aware of. He'd also promised Yang "a date" and should make arrangements to spend time with the others as well.

Walt chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. Jen had been right earlier. If he was like other Primes he could take the easy way. Maybe that's why things were the way they were on Prime. Most Primes lived the easy life. Calander full of holidays. Every excuse to "take it easy". That's also why Characters were everywhere, working all kinds of jobs. (And not at all because it was more interesting that way and easier for "the authors" to use already developed Characters, cutting their work load by significant amounts ;) ). He always felt that was why so many Primes opted for a "harsh harem master" lifestyle, simpler and convenient relationships, but being a domineering bastard not only didn't appeal to him, but took a lot of commitment and work to do it right apparently. He genuinely liked Characters, probably more than most Primes if he was honest about it. If he was going to have to work at it anyway he simply preferred to put the work into building their relationships a bit differently. Different strokes, different folks.

"Good thing I like "hard" difficulty settings," he said. Penny tilted her smiling head questioningly and he shook his. "Not important."

Neo grinned and wiggled her eyebrows. ["Hard"? XD]

Jen perched her glasses lower on her cute green nose giving him a look as she popped a button on her Blouse teasingly showing more cleavage. "Didn't sound unimportant to us..."

Pyrrha smiled leaning to give him an eyeful of cleavage too. "Yes... tell us more about "Hard" difficulty settings! It sounds like good "training"."

Jubilee laughed and popped her gum. "Okay, gals! Let's check on our perspnal supplies real quick and then Walt can... give us an example of "hard mode" before he has to go run errands!"

Penny clapped her hands. "Sensational! Let us hurry then!"

Walt gulped as the ladies abandoned him in a rush to get their chores done... and get on with other things. "Sounds like we're going for another round already... I sometimes think I'm living life on "hard" mode."

(("Nonsense," Friday said. "You're obviously playing "Boss rush" mode, "Boss"."))

Walt rolled his eyes but nodded. "I stand corrected... Better check my own needs and get some water." He headed inside.

(("Good thinking. You should definitely top off your fluids before they are depleted.")) Friday advised.
