Chapter 12 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

Now what does Buffy do?

Buffy makes a plan

"Drusilla Summers, you say?" asked Buffy.

"Yes," said Dr. Scully. "Surely you're familiar with that name."

"Oh, I'm familiar with that name, all right," said Buffy. "I don't suppose I can get those two tattoos removed right away?"

"Are you sure you want to do that?" said Dr. Scully. "Removing just one tattoo can be a painful procedure. Removing two, well --"

"I'm sure," said Buffy.

"Okay," said Dr. Scully. "I'll set something up for tomorrow morning."

That seemed easy enough, thought Buffy. Too easy. Why did the doctor give in so easily?

Hey, she thought. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. The doctor is going along with you for a change.

Yes, but why?

What do you mean, 'why'?

Why the sudden concession? Will removing the tattoos not make a difference or something?

Why do you think that?

Well, consider the past. How often has Drusilla used magic tattoos to do her dirty work? More importantly, what does she normally do?

Simple, thought Buffy. She drinks blood, she teases Spike and she kills people.

But what else does she do?

That's it, isn't it?

No, you're not thinking, Buffy. What does Drusilla normally do? What is she famous -- or rather, infamous -- for doing? What did she do to Kendra? And Giles?

But that would mean --

Yes, Buffy. It would mean exactly that.

"On second thought," said Buffy. "I'd like to see one of the nurses bring a mirror in here."

"And why would you need a mirror, Ms. Summers?" asked Dr. Scully.

"I want to see these tattoos for myself," said Buffy.

Does Buffy get her wish in regard to the mirror?
