Broker a short ceasefire to help the innocent

You arrive flying your great drake Spook ignoring the six Riders that circle high above you and your elite guard. As soon as all your gear is unloaded you order envoys be sent to both the United Armies and the City of Athenapolis while your camp is set up. Your ambassadors carry scrolls calling for an immediate ceasefire of all hostilities and an invitation for each party to send representatives to meet with you. Within the next five hours, right after finishing setting up camp, the envoys from both sides arrive and are escorted to the camp center to meet you the Warrior-King of Kalion.

When they see you eating and talking with the commoners that make up your army, the nobles of the United Armies appear shocked by your lack of social graces. The officers bristle with rage that this so-called king is even in position to get to talk about peace let alone question their right to ****, pillage and enslave the citizens of Athenapolis. They might not like the situation, but your elite troops are more than capable of cutting their lines of supplies and breaking the siege of the city.

The envoys sent from Athenapolis are equally suspicious of you and your intent. You cannot blame these profit-minded ambassadors of the city's great merchant families. The Regent of Athenapolis and his High Council must surely see you as a wildcard, you're not a man who has shown any favor to their corrupt slaver-infested city and yet you have not aligned your forces with the United Armies. Since your coronation, you have received all manner of exotic gifts from the High Council of Athenapolis trying unsuccessfully to enter into diplomatic agreements with Kalion. You were willing to trade with the merchants from Athenapolis, but had resisted all attempts to return the institution of slavery to your home or to ally their city with you and your people. And yet, here you are - their best hope to end this siege.

Before you even get a chance to speak to the arrayed emissaries you are interrupted by a dark-haired representative of the United Armies wearing gilded armor and only a handful of years older than you.

"Why should we listen to you, bastard child of thieves and slaves?" He stands so there is no doubt about who is speaking. "Return home to your nation of whores, boy. Leave real fighting to men." Every Kalion soldier in the tent half-draws their weapons willing to die to defend their king's honor. Even members of the officer's own delegation appear to be surprised and disapproving of the braggart's bold challenge.

You just laugh and give your loyal warriors a signal to stand down. A glance at an attractive red-haired young woman brings her to your side. Alexia Manolas, daughter of the former Spymaster, may have inherited her father's position but you've been convinced she is as capable as her sire in spite of her tender age. Only 19 years old, her piercing green eyes miss nothing, and with her pale skin with freckles that add to her youthful appearance, she is usually ignored. Her weapons of choice are twin daggers for close range and a bow with poison-tipped arrows for ranged combat, but it is her unmatched memory and keen analysis that you value the most. As expected, Alexia already knows what you want and smoothly glides to your side to provide the arrogant young man's name.
