Turn around?
Briefly.
Jen turned around for a briefest while of them all and saw exactly who she expected: several women in maid dresses rushed in and were staring at her standing up.
"I'll be right back!" — she said to confuse them and win a second or two and ran away herself, hoping her shackles would not be a much worse handicap than the maids' stilettos.
Slamming the door behind her, Jen ran to the bar. It just felt like be the place for blending into the crowd, even though this one did not seem crowded or even populated at first. Approaching it made the snaps in her ankles a lot more rapid, which was quite an inconvenience at the time. Already past the wide doorless entrance, the girl turned around and saw the maids yelling and tugging at their hairpieces, then withdrawing into the service room.
"These poor things can't stray too far from their ordered areas." — Jen jumped at the sound of another voice. Another maid was behind the counter, but did not seem to be after her. Instead, she was pretending to wipe an already squeaky clean glass. — "I bet you're very thirsty. Please, take a seat, I'll arrange a drink for you real quick."
"Who the f... I mean, let me catch my breath first."
