Brian wakes you

You wake to someone shaking your shoulder. Groggy, you look up at Brian, taking a moment to realise where you are and who he is.

"It nearly time we headed over to the faculty meeting," he says. "I thought I'd wake you up in case you wanted to shower or anything."

You nod thanks and shamble into the bathroom, stripping your clothes off and turning on the shower. A few minutes of water blasting on your skin wakes you up, and you towel yourself dry before dressing in slacks and a muted sports jacket. You knot a tie around your neck as you head downstairs, noting that Brian has opted to go without one. Typical jock, you think to yourself as the two of you leave the cottage.

"How was your office?" you ask.

"More interesting than I expected," he says with a smile. "I think it will work out just fine. I'm starting to look forward to this."

You nod and the rest of the short walk passes in silence. It takes little time to find the faculty lounge, and the two of you step in to meet the rest of your colleagues for the first time.
