Breastfeeding.

Juleka sat down onto the crib's mattress as Rose eagerly crawled into her lap. Juleka unzipped the front of her shirt and unclipped a part of her nursing bra. Her nipple was dark and had leaked into her bra, Juleka managing to get away with it because her shirt was black.

Without hesitating, Rose latched onto the breast and began sucking.

As Rose cheek's puffed with milk, Juleka brushed some of her blonde bangs out of her face. While Rose was awake, nursing always calmed the little as she relaxed in her lap. She patted Rose's padded bottom as she felt the pressure in her breast lessen.

Much like Littles, Caregivers had their own unique problems and physical changes when puberty comes around. On top of a strong parental instinct, girl-caregivers in particular suffered from what medical professionals called "Galactorial Syndrome." When their mammary gland's develop, a female caregiver's exocrine glands become active. While most other women only lactate during and after pregnancy, a caregiver's breasts might begin lactating not long after their first menstrual cycle. While not universal for all caregivers, it happens with most caregivers and acts as a biological incentive for finding a little to care for.

Juleka had suspected she was a Caregiver before she had been diagnosed because her breasts had hurt a week before her diagnoses, waking up with a wet shirt for days. Her brother Luke had gone to the pharmacy and brought home a home-usable breast pump to help lessen the pressure. Then when she had found out that Rose was a little, she offered to be her caregiver.

Juleka loved looking after "Little Rosie" and wanted to breastfeed her, but she was too nervous to ask Rose out of her headspace. Then one day, she was taking care of Rosie and she had crawled up to Juleka and, without even saying anything, tried sucking on her breast through her shirt. She was embarrassed and a little worried, but she had undid her shirt and let her.

When Rose came out of it, she hadn't made a big deal out of it. She admitted that she knew Juleka was lactating and had wanted to taste it for a while, but was too nervous to ask something so intimate from her closest friend. Caregiver milk was very nutritious, both for babies and Littles, so there was no harm in it.

Now whenever Juleka's milk came in, she would feed it to Little Rosie. When Rose wasn't around, she would use the pump and store it in bottles and bottle-feed her every day at school.
