Chapter 29 by Sarckle Sarckle

How does your day go?

Breakfast

You wake up early excited for the day to come. Your first gym battle with Brock of the Pewter City Gym. You check your phone, the gym won’t be open for another couple hours. You take the time to shower and pick out the perfect outfit for such an occasion. You pick a black skirt with a white low cut t-shirt that shows off your ample cleavage and of course your hat. You drop your 3 Combee in the PC along with your dirty clothes from the night before.

You take a selfie sending the message, “Big day. Wish me luck,” to your mom. According to the clock, you still have enough to get some breakfast before the gym opens. You make your way to a breakfast house near the pokemart.

You take a seat at the diner. The waitress comes over, “You going to face Brock?” She asks pointing at your hat.

“Yea. I’m nervous, I think I can pull it off but the chance of losing is always there,” you answer trying to stay cool.

“Well, either way you’ll be fine. If the stories other girls have told me are even half true, you might want to lose and let that hunky gym leader show you a good time. But hey that’s just me, what can I get you this morning?”

“Umm, just some pancakes,” you answer trying to shake off the waitress’s odd remarks.

“Sure thing. We’ll have those right out.” You catch yourself watching the waitress’s ass as she leaves your table. You’re reminded of your encounter with Jack. Only looking away when your phone rings.

The display reads “Mom.” You answer it and a video chat with your mother opens. The signs of aging only starting to appear on your mom. She was around your age when she got pregnant with you, so she is still fairly young. On more than a few occasions the two of you have been mistaken for sisters. “Hey honey, I got your message this morning and wanted to wish you luck face to face.”

“Thanks, mom.” You quickly fall into telling your mom everything from your journey, well almost everything. You obviously don’t fill her in on the less than consensual acts. But you can’t contain yourself while talking about John and Jack.

“I’m so happy for you, I know how hard it can be as a young female trainer. I’m so happy that you found people who you can trust. It was the same way with me and your father. He was such a gentleman. So don’t let the hardships of being a trainer distract you from the fun of it too, whether that is this John fella or this Jack gal. Unfortunately I have to go, I’m supposed to meet with Sessile Oak about 10 minutes ago. Love you dear.”

“Love you too, mom.” You put down your phone as the waitress brings back your food. Feeling excited to finally be getting to your first gym battle you scarf down your pancakes. You leave the diner after paying for your meal.

You reach the gym making your way inside. Your stomach drops when you realize you aren’t the first one here. The doors to the battlefield are closed with a match underway. During most of the week gym battles are held in private, but during certain events usually on weekends during prime audience hours. And first thing in the morning isn’t exactly prime time, plus with the Mounted Polo League in town the stadium isn’t available for public gym battles anyways.

You had always imagined your first battle being on the big stage with a crowd cheering you on. But now that the time has come, your nerves are glad for the private setting. And your excitement wouldn’t let you wait anyways. You make your way to the gym attendant to schedule your match.

“Welcome to the Pewter City Gym. There is a bit of a wait, but we can get you in around an hour from now.” The news that you’d have an hour to wait makes your excitement waiver. You leave your name and number at the front desk.

How do you kill the time?
