Breakfast

"I believe we have a reservation," Leah told the waitress who greeted her, Natalie, and Zoe at the entrance of the Boxwood Restaurant.

"What's the name?" the waitress asked, looking at the reservation list on her tablet.

"Either under Mrs. Iris Lee or Dr. Hane Sze," Leah answered.

"Please follow me," the young blonde smiled and guided the pair through the long sitting room with tables and chairs on one side and a bar on the other side. They passed small private dining rooms and the London Bar to the main dining hall of the restaurant. The stylish and elegant dining room was spacious and well-lit, with large windows that allow natural light to filter in and it exuded a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere. At the other side of the hall several tables were arranged for the fourteen guests but only five were present — Jonathan, Iris, Hane, Lauren, and Cindy.

Iris saw the girls and waved them over.

"I hope we're not too late," Natalie smiled and bowed slightly to Jonathan's mother.

"You are not late," Iris smiled back while the girls sat down. "You are earlier than Allison, Eva, Kaylee, and the triplets."

"I'm starving!" Zoe blurted out and scanned the breakfast menu. "Can I order now?"

"No, please wait for the other girls to arrive," Iris scolded her.

"Yes, auntie," Zoe nodded.

"I wish we got to know you more, auntie," Natalie said.

"We'll get to know Mrs. Lee a bit more today," Lauren smirked. "I've invited her to go to JPL with us."

"My flight is not until four this afternoon," Iris added.

"Oooh, maybe I can show you ROBoT!" Leah chirped.

"She's adorably cute!" Zoe beamed.

"Your robot is a girl?" Iris asked with a puzzled look.

"Why not?" Natalie shrugged as the other girls trickled in.

"It's about time! I'm hungry!" Zoe piped up.

"Sorry, we had to find something nice to wear," Crystal replied, twirling to show off her skirt. Her sisters did the same to show off the clothes they had borrowed from her.

"What are you having for breakfast, Jon?" Cindy asked, leaning over to look at his menu so that he could not miss the strawberry scented perfume she was wearing.

"Probably the English breakfast," he replied.

"You're a meat and potatoes type of guy?" Kaylee wonder.

"I guess years of eating MREs and hospital food has dulled my taste buds," he shrugged.

"Well, I'm going to order the granola and chocolate brioche French toast," Cindy said with a wink and a smile. "We can share."

"Thank you," he nodded with a polite smile and looked over to his mother. "What are you going to order, Mom?"

"The eggs Benedict looks good," Iris responded as the waitress returned to take their orders.

After the waitress left, Lauren stood up and tapped her glass of water with a spoon to get everyone's attention. "Attention please, everyone. I want to remind you all that we are back to work today."

"Boo!" Allison interrupted, only to get an elbow and a glower from Eva.

"However, before we do we will spend one last meal with Jonathan's mother," Lauren continued, ignoring Allison's outburst, "who has been so generous with us by buying clothes..."

"...and swimsuits and lingerie!" Kaylee added to the cheers from the rest of the girls.

"... yes, and swimsuits and lingerie," Lauren smiled, stealing a quick glance at Jonathan, "that we will cherish and use for the next two years!"

Iris modestly waved away the girls' thanks and claps. "It is the least I could do for you girls because you will have to live with my son!" She turned to smile at her son who politely s chuckled at his mother's attempt at humor.

"I don't see an issue with that," Jade whispered to her sisters, who nodded in agreement.

"Thank you for your kind words, Dr. Cheung," Iris complimented as she stood up to address the table. "I am very happy and delighted to have met you all. I wish I could have spent more time to get to know each and every one of you bright, talented, and beautiful women! I know my son will be in good hands with all of you looking after him. You are all good girls!"

"Thank you, auntie!" the girls cheered, standing up to respectfully bow to Iris.

"Remember, if my son hurts any of you I will spank him!" Iris added and everyone except Jonathan laughed (he knew his mother would carry out her threat).

"Don't worry, auntie, if Jon misbehaves I'll spank him!" Cindy offered, giving Jonathan a playful wink and nudge of her elbow. Most of the other girls volunteered as well, much to Jonathan's chagrin because apparently his mother did not understand the sexual innuendo in the act. He suffered in silence as the thirteen women chitchatted among themselves while they waited for their food to arrive.

"Have you ever seen photos of Jonathan as a boy?" Iris proudly asked while she took out her phone.

"No! Please show us, auntie!" Cindy gasped, anxiously getting out of her seat. The other girls began to follow suit to huddle around Iris but Zoe stopped them.

"Girls," Zoe barked, "we don't need to all try look over auntie's shoulder at the same time! She can share the photos with us!"

"Share?" Jonathan blurted out.

"I can?" Iris asked.

"Since you have an iPhone, you can share photos with other iPhones with the AirDrop app," Zoe explained, standing up to walk over to Iris.

"Oh yes, you are the smart computer genius!" Iris smiled, handing her phone to Zoe. "Please do it for me, mui mui!"

"It's insultingly easy," Zoe smirked and tapped the phone a couple times. "There, everyone who has an iPhone should can get the photos now."

The rest of the girls squealed and immediately went to download the pictures.

"You were a very handsome boy, Jon!" Lauren commented while she scrolled through the photo album.

"Thanks," Jonathan nodded, sipping his water.

"Ooooh, he looks very handsome in his Navy dress uniform!" Eva noted. The other girls agreed with a wolf whistles from Allison, Kaylee, and the triplets.

"Yes, I was very proud of him when he graduated the Naval Academy!" Iris noted, looking at her son with a smile.

"I prefer him in his scrubs!" Cindy giggled, leaning over to show Jonathan the selfie photo he had taken on his first day of being an ER resident doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital.

"You're all going to delete the photos afterwards, right?" Jonathan asked.

The girls shook their heads and laughed.

Jonathan sighed and continued to stoicly sip his water while the girls flipped through the photos, occasionally asking his mother questions while glancing at him with a giggle. He breathed a sigh of relief when three waitress returned with their food.
