Breakfast

You grab a shirt and pair of shorts of yours that may work for the small cat girl, and set them on the bathroom counter. You glance at the shower, seeing her figure obscured by the shower curtain. Your mind wanders back to seeing her slim, naked body for just a moment before you catch yourself and slip back out of the bathroom.

You head to the kitchen, and dig through your refrigerator. You don’t have a ton of food, but you do have some bacon and eggs, and a bit of cheese. You fry up the bacon, and mix up a big batch of scrambled eggs with cheese, while setting your small dinner table with a pair of plates and silverware. You think for a moment, then pour a glass of milk for each of you.

You’re just serving up a heaping portion to each plate as the cat girl emerges from the bathroom. The shirt you gave her is much too large, of course, fitting her like a dress. As she walks out, you see that she didn’t even bother putting on the shorts, as her tail lifts the back of the shirt, giving you a glimpse of her backside as she walks over to the table. You pull out a chair for her, and she sits, somewhat tentatively. Now that she’s clean, you can more clearly see the bruises on her, likely from the fall off the truck hauling her.

Smiling, you sit down across from her. “Go ahead, dig in. There’s plenty here.”

She doesn’t move at first, just watching you. You shrug, and take a bite of the eggs. Chewing, you nod at her. After watching you for another moment, she slowly picks up the fork and scoops up a small bit of eggs. When she puts it in her mouth, her mismatched eyes go wide. She leans forward, suddenly eating ravenously, pausing only long enough to drink some milk before stuffing more food in. You chuckle, watching her eat as you do the same. When she finishes, her plate empty, she leans back with a sigh.

You smile, standing to clear the table. “Feeling a little better now?”

She nods, and speaks quietly. “Yes. I thank you. It was…delicious.”

You chuckle. “That’s high praise for my cooking! So, now we have some things to figure out. First off, what do we do with you?”

The cat girl wrings her hands, her ears flattening against her head. “The masters said I was defective. To be discarded. But you have taken me in.”

She looks at you, and you see hope in those strange eyes. “Does this mean you’re my new master?”

You blink in surprise. “I…hmm. I won’t say no. But don’t see me as a master, I won’t be ordering you around or anything. Besides, I don’t even know what to call you yet. Why don’t we start by hearing about each other. Come sit on the couch, and tell me about yourself, ok?”

She nods, and you lead her to the living room. She sits beside you, and looks at you curiously. You can see a question in her eyes, but she stays quiet. You’re starting to see how to get her to open up, however.

“I can see you have a question. Go ahead and ask.”

She looks down, thinking for a moment. “May I…would you allow me to lean against you? When you carried me last night, it felt…nice. Safe. I would like to feel that again.”

You smile at her. “Of course. Make yourself comfortable, and you can tell me your story.”

You catch a glimpse of a fleeting smile on her face as she moves closer, and rests her head on your shoulder. You hear her sigh, and feel her relax. She tenses slightly as you put an arm around her, but then relaxes again, moving closer against you. You let her relax for a while, and simply stroke her hair, her eyes closing as she leans on you.

After a time, her eyes open again. “I will tell you my story. But be aware, it is…unpleasant to hear.”

You nod. “I understand. I’d still like to hear it.”

She’s quiet for a moment, then she shivers. “Ok. If I disturb you…stop me.”
