Chapter 81 by brevdravis brevdravis

Well, that's a good sign, Right?

Breakfast and a Confession

"Good morning." I stated, looking at Kaila with an appraising eye. "Have a good night?"

"The best. And I love you so much!" She smiled, nearly crushing me with a redoubled **** hug and kiss.

"Dahlin, you look lahk you had that kahnd of evenin'. Charlotte laughed, looking back and forth from me to Helen. Helen smiled, taking her seat at the table, and leaning over to give her girlfriend a tender kiss.

"It was fun." Helen commented, picking up a fork and taking a bite of the slightly cooled eggs that sat on her plate. "Real fun."

All four of us commenced eating. The food was a little cold, but to me, the fact that Kaila and Charlotte had cared enough to make it was heartwarming. Eggs and toast had never been as satisfying to my palate as that morning. Combined with coffee, it was everything I needed to face the day.

As I ate, I looked from face to face. There was a sense that this was right. There was very little conversation in the dim, foggy light, but there was plenty of communication.

"I want to take a walk today." Helen announced, dropping her fork onto the plate with a clatter of metal on ceramic.

"I could go for that." I smiled. It was a nice idea. Woods always looked fascinating to me in fog.

"Well that's great... because uhm... " Kaila sheepishly spoke, before sighing. "Shit, this was what the breakfast was for. I was going to get you in a good mood, explain how great I thought you were, how my loving husband..."

"What's Broken?" I asked.

"I forgot to fill up the van with gas when we took it two days ago." Kaila dropped her head in her hand. "I know, I just... forgot. And last night when you and Helen were in the bedroom, Charlotte suggested that we go look at the stars down on the beach."

"We had a great tahm..." Charlotte nodded. "But we ran outta gas halfway back to tha Cabin."

"And I totally wrecked my feet last night because I also forgot to wear shoes." Kaila groaned. "So, I can't really walk the four miles to the nearest gas station." She propped her bare left foot up on the table, and I could see the start of several large blisters. "I mean, I CAN, but I am sure that my loving husband wouldn't want me to have to be in pain when I could be here lying back and thinking sexy thoughts about him with a beautiful woman..."

"Four Miles?" I sighed. "Both Ways?"

"I'm Sorry! I promise I'll make it up to you if you go!" Kaila begged, Her voice taking on that pleading tone she sometimes adopted in bed.

Walk for gas, or another idea?
