Breakfast And Planning

Kenny walked into the kitchen and Nicole instantly lifted her eyes, smiling at him sweetly from the table. Kenny locked eyes with her for a moment before looking away, Nicole immediately raised her brow as she watched Kenny walk to the table, seemingly ignoring her. "Morning guys," He finally said with a head nod,

"Sleep good, man?" Brian asked while lifting a plate of pancakes and passing it to JJ, "You were pretty dead last night,"

"Trust me, this one was all springy this morning," Nicole interjected while peering at Kenny who still kept his eyes off her, Oh my god, are you serious? Is he gonna try and ignore me now? She thought with a small toss of her eyes; He has no idea what he's getting into.

"You know Nikki, I don't think 'springy' is a real saying," Anna giggled out,

"What? Of course, it is," Nicole scoffed back, "It means, like energetic or whatever. You know when they say someone sprung out of bed," Nicole tried to explain,

"Yeah but I've never heard someone change the tense of sprung," Anna replied causing Nicole to shake her head,

"Oh god, you're a fucking dork," She grumbled out causing a few chuckles to ring out, "Just because you're an English major doesn't mean I care about making sure everything I say is so proper and correct."

"Yeah, oops, I forgot," Anna smiled back, "Speaking of college though, JJ," Anna said looking at the jock as he took a bite of his pancakes,

"What's up?" JJ replied after he swallowed,

"Didn't you get a scholarship for hockey?" JJ nodded back with a smile, "That's awesome, I'm so happy for you,"

"Yeah, though it probably wasn't too hard seeing as no one fucking plays that sport," Brian sarcastically ribbed,

"Uh yeah they do man," JJ retorted, easily falling for Brian bait, "It's a loved sport with millions of followers,"

"Yeah? Well, how come I can names tones of football players but only one hockey player. Gritzkey or whatever his name is, that's the only one I can think of."

"Gretzky," JJ corrected, "And you know what, no, I'm not having this conversation with you again," JJ continued while shaking his head. "Bust my chops all you want but I love the sport, I play it well, and it's taking my ass straight to college, so suck on that."

"Damn, shut down," Kenny laughed at Brian who had his eyes slightly widened as he heard JJ rant,

"JJ's out for blood," Mindy tacked on while lightly elbowing her friend causing him to let out a breathy laugh,

"No, Brian just loves to get me going on this shit, and I'm not feeling it today," JJ explained,

Brian finally let out a smile and reached over patting JJ on the shoulder, "You know I'm just playing man, and who knows, maybe one day you'd end up in the NHL."

"Here's hoping," JJ nodded back, "Anyway, enough of that, what's the plan for today guys?"

"Obviously we could Ski," Kenny pointed out,

"Yeah, our basement has plenty of boards, and ski's for us all to use," Brian agreed, "Oh yeah, and we have ice skates too, a little way up the mountain my dad put in a little pond, it's froze over completely making a perfect ice rink."

"Your dad built a pond...on a mountain?" Mindy uttered back, her jaw slightly dropped,

"Fuck, I hope I could be that rich one day," Nicole softly muttered causing Kenny to acknowledge her with a laugh finally. Surprisingly for Nicole, she found herself liking it much more than she thought she would. Nicole had often done what Kenny was doing now, pushing someone's buttons by ignoring them to work them up. Nicole figured that if anyone ever tried that on her, it wouldn't work since she was a master at that head game but Kenny was easily riling her up.

Though, unbeknownst to Nicole, Kenny was merely doing this in hopes that Nicole wouldn't end up teasing him for the rest of the week. He didn't have the experience with women to tell that what he was doing was a form of teasing as well. "So basically we have options than," Kenny said with a small smirk,

"Oh, and they don't end there my friend," Brian grinned back, "We got a rec room in the back of the lodge, flat screen, games, the works. Not to mention a fire pit out back, where we could all hang out, or if it's too cold, we could use the fireplace in the den." Brian heard a murmuring of agreement from his friends as he thought for a few seconds, "Hmm, what else...Well, we have the snow itself too, snowball fights can be par for the course too,"

"Oh, now you're talking," JJ grinned causing Anna to nod with him in agreement,

"And I guess if we wanted at any point we could just take the tram back down the mountain and go into town," Brian finally tacked on with a shrug, "I don't know, that's all I got right now, what do you guys think?" The group went silent as they thought things over, trying to figure out what would be best to start the week off with.
