Brainiac

Hearing a portal opening behind her, Kara spun around and saw the Coluan conqueror, Brainiac.

"Excellent, both of the subjects have arrived." He said in that creepy monotone voice of his. "Now the experiments can begin."

"Like hell they will," Kara said speeding towards him before Kal could stop her. Underestimating his strength, Kara was effortlessly knocked aside into a nearby car. While she tried to regain her senses, Kal charged towards him. Unlike Kara, however, he stalled just before Brainiac could hit him and countered him. Throwing him at a nearby wall, not hard enough to damage the wall but enough to stun him for a moment. He took the opportunity to dash over to Kara.

"You ok?" He asked pulling her to her feet.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She said, bitter at how easily she was knocked down. Looking over his shoulder, Kara saw Brainiac get back up. She made to charge him again but remembering her earlier blunder, chose to wait a moment. "What's the plan?"

"I'll get his attention, you get behind him and hit him hard." Kal said.

"Hell yeah," Kara said, not bothering to hide her excitement.

"Not too hard, Kara." He said sternly before flying up above Brainiac and blasting him with his heat vision. Brainiac effortlessly blocked it with a **** field but took his eyes off of Kara, letting her slip behind him and wait for her moment.

She didn't wait too long, charging forward almost immediately only to be caught by the throat by one of his many tentacles.

"Your abilities have given you unwarranted self worth, Kara Zor-El," Brainiac said before moving her body in the path of Kal's heat vision. Her back was scorched but otherwise she was fine, her Kryptonian biology protecting her. Kal still stopped blasting and instead flew towards them both, hoping to cut the tentacle but was stopped when Brainiac slammed Kara into him.

Before Kara could regain her senses, she was lifted up by the throat and slammed face-first back into the ground. She lifted her head and tried to blast Brainiac again but he simply twisted the tentacle so she was blasting a nearby building forcing her to stop.

"You are not quite as fearsome as your cousin but you will suffice for my experiments." Brainiac said fiddling with something on his gauntlet.

'Experiments, what? And what did he mean not as fearsome as Kal?' Kara thought as she furiously tried to claw her way out. 'Speaking of Kal, where did he go?' Kara's thought were cut off as she was suddenly electrocuted by Brainiac.

Kryptonians should be able to sustain electrical shocks, the voltage Brainiac's using must be immense. Kara could barely keep her thoughts straight as she felt electricity surge throughout her body, making her twitch and flail uncontrollably. The last thing she saw clearly was Kal charge toward Brainiac before she felt a solid thud below her.

As Kara slowly opened her eyes the first thing she noticed was that she was no longer in the city. She was in a large, pristine room. Almost like a doctors office except it clearly wasn't of human design. The second thing she noticed was that she could move, her arms and legs were strapped to a medical table and try as she may, she couldn't break out of it.

As she struggled, she became aware of the feeling of bare skin rubbing against the surface, fearing the worst she looked down and confirmed she was naked. Kara bit back a scream and momentarily forgot her restraints as she tried to cover herself. Starting to panic, Kara tried to unleash her heat vision on the room but nothing happened, something was dampening her powers.

For the first time since arriving on Earth and discovering her powers, Kara Zor-El was afraid.
