Chapter 2
by MudSlinger
Who are you?
Brad, 21. College student in trouble
You agreed to a wager with a guy in one of your classes named Jerry.
Who the fuck names their kid Jerry?
It doesn't matter. You are not friends. In fact, he hates you and you don't feel all that fond of him yourself. He is a self centered, egotistical, and arrogant in the worst possible way and treats all of the women in your class like nothing more than objects. You both got into a heated argument about how he conducts himself in class and made a wager against you just as a Shadow appeared; which was staring intently at you with those lifeless white eyes. A small group of your classmates have also gathered, knowing what is about to happen next.
"Listen dick, here's the wager. You have to fuck a different girl each night for the next week and blow a load in each of em. Guess what, though? You will one-hundred percent knock em up. I don't give a fuck how you do it, but you will. Each night a different girl. You lose, you can't get hard or blow a load for the next year but you will be horny every fuckin' second of every fuckin' day to the point where you not cummin' will make you go fuckin' insane. Let the Shadows bind this, bitch!" Jerry smirked as he laid it down on you and crossed his arms over his chest. He was smug and confident that you won't be able to lay seven girls over seven days. This pissed you off for a few reasons. But they don't matter right now. The collective gasps from those around made it even worse.
The sudden tightness you felt in your chest was almost unbearable. This got very serious very quick. You managed to go without making a single wager since it became common knowledge out of fear of the power these Shadows had. If you learned one thing about Shadows, you knew that they were absolute and making wagers lightly on a whim was dangerous and irresponsible. People die because of these stupid wagers. And now you found yourself in the middle of one that could very well end life as you knew it in a very real way.
You swallow hard and eye Jerry.
Fuck this guy!
You fire back at him rather quickly and unexpectedly. "Fine, but if I win, you can't ever get hard again, mother fucker. And you can never be involved in another wager with Shadows. Ever." Jerry's smile faded as he furrowed his brow. Feeling confident yourself now that you have leveled the playing field in a major way, you say; "Or you can forfeit, bitch. Let the Shadows work a number on you," you spit as the Shadow that had been intently staring at you now looked to Jerry. The same toothy grin still permanently etched into it's lifeless face.
Jerry seemed shaken, if only for a second before he answered. "Fine," he said in a somewhat subdued tone. It was as if he realized what he brought upon himself by even contemplating making a wager. "Deal. Starts now. Twenty-four hours starts right now. Different girl each day," he repeated softly as he brushed by you.
You stand there, watching him go for a moment before you leave yourself. You tremble at the thought of what happens to you if you lose. Then again, winning isn't much better, is it? Seven different girls would become pregnant by you. Your future was going to get a lot more complicated regardless.
Fuck, you think as you quickly make your way back to your dorm. You have to start right away.
You drop your backpack off along with your books and look at yourself in the bathroom mirror.
"Fuck," you say aloud. You aren't bad looking. Neatly trimmed haircut, light brown hair, dark eyes. You have a masculine jawline and an expressive brow. You are well built from years of swim. It's just the weight of the situation you currently find yourself in that adds a sense of despair.
"Crying about it ain't gonna help you. What are you planning on doing?" you ask yourself. It's time to make a decision.
Do you play the game? Do you forfeit and leave yourself to the will of the Shadows? It is possible nothing serious could happen, but on the other hand, you could just as easily die.
What do you do?
Win, at any cost...

Fiends
Monsters and Shadow
Not too long ago, ominous shadowy figures began appearing all across the world. No distinguishing features could be seen on these things save their entirely white eyes and the eerily toothy grin which was permanently transfixed on each of them. These beings never spoke, never directly interacted with people or objects, and always appeared during times of strife or conflict between individuals or groups. These things could not be explained nor could we interact with them directly. These passive observers silently watched our world as we continued to exist, wage war, and expand.
