Both homes

Head towards the student parking lot. Get to Jen car but she’s not here yet. Looking around still don’t see her. Strange. Hopefully she didn’t fall asleep. Hear my phone go off. Getting my phone out of my purse bag and checking it. “Hey Cindy can you help get Jen from science class “ text from Diana “On my way “ I text back. Diana is a mutual friend of both of us and she has the same science class as Jen. So Jen must of fell asleep in class. Knew this would happen.

Put my phone back into my purse bag as I head back into the school to the science area. Finding the classroom and head inside. See Jen sleeping at her desk and Diana standing next to her. “Thanks for letting me know “ I say as I walk up to both of them. “No problem “ Diana says. “How long she been here like this “ I ask “about 15 minutes and I already tried waking her “ Diana says “well she almost made it “ I say “can you help me get her to her car” I ask “sure” Diana says. Grabbing Jen’s backpack and making sure everything inside before closing it. Then put the backpack on my back Diana already has her bag on. Grabbing Jen on the left side and Diana on her right we pick her up and start carrying her out of the classroom. Head down the halls and outside. We then head towards the students parking lot and to her car. Leaning her against the car I reach into her pockets to find her keys. Then I unlock the car. Diana opens the passenger side door. We then get Jen into the passenger seat and close the door. “Thanks Diana for your help “ I say. “Hey glad I could help “ she says. “You need a ride “ I say “no …. Kendra is waiting for me “ she says. “Ok” I say. We hug. “Have a good day “ I say as I head around to the drivers side and Diana starts walking “you too” she says as she walks. Opening the drivers side door and take off Jen’s backpack and put it in the back seat. Then I get into the drivers seat and close the door. Have to adjust the seat a little bit because it’s further back because Jen is a couple inches taller than me so her legs are longer. So reaching the pedals are easy for her but I need to be a bit closer. Reach over and put the seatbelt on Jen. Then I put my seatbelt on. Good thing I got my drivers license a couple years ago at 16. Though I haven’t driven since because Jen been doing all the driving but I should still remember how to do it.

Put the key in and start the engine. It starts which is a good way to start things. Put it in reverse and back out slowly while turning the steering wheel . Remember I haven’t done this for a while. When clear I put it in drive and start moving slowly forward. Again remember I’m out of practice. Get to the Main Street and get on when clear. Keeping a eye on the speed limit and the other cars around me while driving. Remembering Jen’s address I start heading over there. While at a stop light I notice my skirt is almost up to my waist. But no time or room to adjust it right now. So have to wait until I get to Jen’s to fix it. Too bad Jen is not awake or she definitely would have some fun with me right now. Continue on to Jen’s. Notice a couple drivers and passengers looking in. But can’t really do anything as I have to drive and concentrate on the road. Given I haven’t drove for a couple years I am actually doing pretty good.

Get to Jen’s house and pull into the driveway. Not sure where she normally parks it so I guess right here is fine. Put the car in park and turn the engine off. Undo my seatbelt and open the drivers side door. Get out. Grab the keys and Jen’s backpack. Making sure I have my purse bag too. Then closing the door. Put her backpack on my back again. Then walking around the car and opening the drivers side door. Reach over and unbuckle her seatbelt. Then pulling her up and out of the car. Leaning her on the car as I close the door. Then I lock the car using Jen’s remote. Then I grab Jen on her right side and carry her over to the front door. Well part carry and part drag. Jen is a bit taller and bigger than April is. So while carrying April was easier because of her size. Using Jen’s keys I start figuring out which key is the front door key. The car key was easy. But she has like 4 other keys that I don’t know what they are. Finding the right one I unlock and open the door Carry Jen inside and using my foot to close the front door. “Jen is that you “ I hear her mother’s voice say. “Hey ms Brings “ I say as she comes around the living room corner. “What happened “ she says looking at Jen. “Jen fell asleep at school and I brought her home “ I say “oh my” she says “is she ok” she continues saying. “Yeah she just needs some sleep “ I say “well I told her she shouldn’t have worked last night but she didn’t listen “she says “well I think she knows that now “ I say. “Well let’s get her up to bed first “ she says. Ms Brings goes to Jen’s left side and the two of us lift her up and carry her up the stairs. For being almost 40 ms Brings is actually pretty strong. We then carry Jen halfway down the hall into Jen’s bedroom. Put her down on her bed. As ms Brings takes Jen’s shoes off I take Jen’s backpack off and put it on her desk. Then I put Jen’s keys on the desk next to her backpack. Turn around and we move Jen into a better position with her head on the pillow. “Let’s let her sleep “ ms Brings says “ok” I say. Both of us leave the bedroom. Ms Brings closes the door behind us. “You were good to bring her home Cindy “ ms Brings says “my honor ms Brings “ I say “I see why you two are such a great match for each other “ she says I blush a little. Not many people say that about us. “Thanks “ I say. “Do you need a ride home or maybe something to eat” she asks as we start heading back down stairs. “No I’ll be fine and mom will probably have dinner ready by the time I get home “ I say. “Ok …well be safe and don’t be a stranger as you know your always welcome here “ she says “I will and thank you “ I say. Opening the front door “oh yeah I parked the car in the driveway as I didn’t know where she parks it so if you need to move it” I say turning towards ms Brings. “Don’t worry I’ll take care of that “ she says. “Ok …. Have a good day “ I say heading out the door. “You too” ms brings says before closing the door.

Walking towards the driveway I get my phone out of my purse bag. “Ok now for me to get home “ I say to myself. Go to Uber and this address to mine. Add female driver option. Ah only 5 minute wait. Must be one in the area. That doesn’t happen often. When the Uber gets there I get into the back seat. Pretty comfortable. On the way we chit chat a bit but nothing major. Get to my house and into the driveway. Thank the lady driver before getting out. As she drives away I get my phone out and add a tip. Was a comfortable ride.

“Hey what are you doing out here” my dad says walking down the driveway from the garage. “Just got home “ I say “That didn’t look like Jen’s car” dad says. He must of just got home and saw the Uber pull up. “Jen was tired so we went to her house first and I just grabbed a Uber from there” I say. Which is technically true but just not saying I did the driving. “Well that’s the safe way to do it and hope she gets some sleep “ dad says “she will “ I say smiling. Her mom will make sure of it. “Let’s head in” dad says heading to the front door. Follow him towards the door. Dad uses the keypad scanner and opens the front door when it unlocks. He walks inside and I walk in behind him closing the door behind me.

“Oh you both coming in at same time “ mom says walking from the living room. “Saw her out there when I got home “ dad says before giving mom a kiss “oh” mom says “took a Uber from Jen’s house because Jen was pretty tired today “ I say “poor thing she needs more sleep “ mom says as dad starts heading into the living room “she will “ I say “well dinner in a hour and you have a package in your room “ mom says before turning “oh?” I say looking upstairs “yeah go take a look “ mom says walking into the living room.
