Now that's a skill! A really good one too, oh man I'm drooling at this one.

Elizabeth and I gather up and head over to the altar with Cyrus. "That was some good thinking." I tell her with a pat on the back. "Throwing Cyrus like that really saved the day."

"You were typically useless."

"Saved your life." I look over my shoulder. "Think Melli's dead?"

"Most likely." I got a certain demon prince who isn't going to be happy with that. "We'll take a look at her in a sec." For the moment we have to congratulate our boy!

Cyrus is huffing still out of breath from the fight, we all were if I'm being honest. But when he looks looks up with us I see he has something in his hands.

"Woah." I gasp, actually gasp. "Boss loot!"

The little twerp got the last hit bonus for killing the boss. He has a little goblin sized shield, made of purple glass, like Mox.

Item Acquired!

Mox's Aegis - A shield crafted from the body of an Archon of The Night. When wielded by the user, their body becomes partially transposed into the New Moon Plains, their body becomes harder to hit so long as they wield the shield. The shield will shatter if it ever takes damage.

"Hmm." I say, looking the item over. "I shield you can't use to block."

Cyrus shrugs and and ties the shield to his back with a bit of rope. "Neato! I also got this!”

Name - Mox's Gaze - Type: Active Effect: The User calls upon the power of The New Moon Plains to banish those who do not dwell in the shadows. Emitting a beam of light with a long range, this attack can damage any creature not hidden in shadows.

"Nice." Elizabeth nods her approval. "That's a boss's unique star, very powerful, and already cultivated." She chuckles. "The Goblin's going to be a 2-star before you!" She gives me a knowing look. "Not me of course."

"So that's it." I say looking around the dungeon. People always make it sound like dungeons had gold pouring out their seams. I wonder if the crystals are worth anything. "I've been worrying about this place so much I'm surprised to be on the other side of things."

"We've got the shield, two rather large gems, and the reward for clearing the dungeon." Elizabeth begins walking towards Melli.

"Not to mention this dungeon is all ours now." I remind her.

"Not a bad haul."

"We're selling the shield?" Cyrus whines.

"Of course." Elizabeth laughs. "It's a boss item. We got to the capital with that, and it's a fat sack of coins for us."

Us.

I smirk to myself. Ya gotta love it.

"But it's useful right?" Cyrus says. "We can hold onto it for later."

"What later?" Elizabeth snorts. "This is the sort of pay day Adventurers dream about. We're going to get a big fat pay day, and now that you're all one stars, you're sure to get recruited by some merchant, or organization. That's a guaranteed paycheck for life." She sounds a little dreamy. "No more searching the bounty boards for a job."

Interesting. "So most adventures don't do this type of thing repeatedly?"

Elizabeth looks at me. "You want to fight that thing again?"

I was still limping, my foot still torn up and roasted. "Not particularly."

"Exactly." Elizabeth says. "Now maybe in other countries with older dungeons you can do it, but The Kingdom doesn't let anything grow past a 1-star. So it's not like you're going up the chain of dungeons."

"I guess I'll think about it." I say.

"It's my shield!" Cyrus huffs.

We ignored him, and get to Melli's she's stone cold ****, but breathing. The lower half of her body is pure carnage. Melted and singed flesh, revealing muscles and bone. I hiss at the sight. "That's more than one of my potions can heal." I say sadly. "Dammit, I really liked her."

"She tried to kill me!" Cyrus huffed.

"Oh our little family isn't going to get anywhere if we hold that against each other." I tsk. "That wound's hard to look at."

"I'll put her out of it." Elizabeth says, pulling her sword out.

"Woah." I stop her. "We just need to get her to the alchemist. We'll buy her a restoration potion like what you took."

"That potion bankrupted me!"

"You could have just not had unprotected sex with every man you met!"

She raised raised a fist at me, unable to strike but ooooooh so wanting to. Thank you steelowyn. "Ohhhhhhh you're so...." She growled and lowered her fist.

"We'll take the money out of her cut, but I'm not going to just let her die." I nodded to Elizabeth, “pick her up we'll head back to town. "

We’re coming to the end of the dungeon arc.

We have a lot of possibilities for where our team could go next:

Setting up the dungeon as an evil sex lair.

Focus on corrupting our followers and a few other NPCs.

Cultivating the stars we have.

Working with the alchemist to collect alchemy based stars.

Traveling to the capital to get involved with some of the factions of The Kingdom.
