Bonnie abandoned

After what felt to Bonnie like about a mile's drive, maybe a little more, the van stopped.

She held her breath, hoping the driver wouldn't open the door. The van was empty. Nowhere for her to hide. In retrospect, jumping inside a random van had probably been a terrible idea. Still, it had been that or the birdwatchers.

She counted to fifty. Then, once she was absolutely certain the door wasn't going to open, she stepped out into the street. She could hear the driver on the other side of the van, talking to someone. Quickly, before he could turn around, she scurried for a alleyway between two buildings, and ducked inside

Where was she?

Bonnie had a terrible suspicion. She knew exactly where she was. And she was somewhere that she shouldn't ought to be. Somewhere that no girl from Pinkwhistle ought to be. Especially if that girl from Pinkwhistle didn't happen to have any clothes on.

She was in Greenvalley. Again.

Okay. It wasn't the end of the world. Bonnie had made it home from Greenvalley before without getting caught, and she could do it again. It hadn't even been that difficult, last time. Bonnie was just thinking about how easy it was going to be to get out of this, really, when you thought about it, when a tall black policewoman came around the corner of the alleyway and saw her standing there naked.

"Eep," said Bonnie. "Um. Hi."

"Pinkwhistle?"

"No. I mean, what is Pinkwhistle? I am from... Germany, ya?"

"Pinkwhistle," said Samantha Suzuki, for it was she, in satisfaction. "Get over here, you." And in no time at all Bonnie was handcuffed, caught firmly in Samantha's grip and being marched towards the mouth of the alleyway, where the bustling main street of Greenvalley awaited.
