Blueberry Blues: The Sisters Leave With Their Aunt

Back at the circus, after telling the family about their little detour, the girls were doing their best to cope without their sister. Peggy bit her knuckles while Charlie tapped her foot.

"So Aunt Desire's about to head north and figure out what happened with Barb."

"Yes."

"Well I'm going with her." Charlie looked shocked at that statement. "I'm going to figure out what happened to our sister. Tell Humphrey to cover for me, I'm not going to change my mind. Whoever took Barb's going to feel my fist in their jaws."

Peggy paced around the room, taking all of her things, and other necessities. Ignoring her sister's pleas, she bound all of the items she felt were needed before she dipped out of the trailer they shared together. Heading towards the outskirts of the circus, she found her aunt sitting on a lawn chair. Her breasts spilled across her torso while the woman leaned back.

"Waiting for a car right now?"

"Hrmph? Peggy?" Desire said.

"It's me, I'm coming along with you. I want to find Barbara too."

"What can you bring to the investigation, my niece?"

"For one, you don't have to Uber your way to the north. I can drive you there." Peggy grinned. Desire licked her lips then nodded.

"Fair. Do your parents know you're leaving?"

"We do now." Peggy swiveled and saw her mom, Humphrey, and her dad alongside Charlie. "Charlie! What did I say?"

"Peggy." Corrine, her mother, came up to her. "You're an adult."

"We love you, but we know you're not that teenage girl who snuck out of her trailer when she was younger." Her dad added on. "If you wanted to follow your aunt, then you could've just said so. We wouldn't have stopped you."

"You did this song and dance when you were fifteen remember? That time you had to tell Barb to cover for you." Humphrey chimed in. Peggy pouted but felt a hand at her shoulder. "Though this time Charlie wants to come along."

"Really?" She looked at her sister. Charlie smiled and nodded.

"We're both going to find Barbara."

"Well we better get going then. The day isn't getting any longer. The Stateline is about an hour away and my friend's house is thirty minutes from there." Desire popped up. "Corrine, I'll take care of your girls."

"I know you will, sis." Desire smiled.

"I'll start the car up. Mom, dad." She turned to her parents. "We'll bring Barb back home. I love you both."

"We love you too, Peggy. May the grace of God protect you." Corrine kissed her cross and Peggy smiled. Charlie followed her sister to the car, leaving the rest of the family near Desire.

"I'd walk with them but these things are a pain in the back." Desire joked. "Hopefully Peg knows to drive the car here."
