As you pull the trigger, you wish he could understand how you feel and that he would be there for you more. You call on your memories of seeing girls at your school, out and having fun at clubs while you were on your way home.

When you open your eyes, your father is no longer there. Instead, your blond best friend Elsa closes the refrigerator. Your eyes go wide. It actually worked! “What are you looking at? Do these jeans make my ass look big?” She says teasingly, sticking out her tongue.

Memories of Elsa quickly form in your head. You two were inseparable from the day you first met in kindergarten. You did everything together. People used to joke that you had been dating but you laughed it off. Elsa got her first boyfriend in high school. She always invited you to parties. She was there for your first kiss too.

“You okay, Kimmy?” She asks, coming closer to you. “I’m fine. I…I just think I need to see my dad right now.”
