"I don't think that's the vice-president..." the man mused.

"Well, how would you know?" Erin replied. "You've just been kicked out of whereever you've been living, so you're not exactly politically connected."

The man didn't say anything. She obviously didn't know that the Lurba clan comes from a minority long discriminated against by the ruling Jumbi tribe, so that a Lurba as Vice-President of Uicocko was about as likely as a Lurba as Vice-President of the United States. Maybe less so.
