How Does The Match Go?
Billy's Way, At First
Miranda was buzzing with enthusiasm. She didn't really know where this was coming from, but she genuinely thought she had a chance at beating her cousin at his own game. Surely he wasn't faking the lack of confidence, or his multiple attempts at trying to get out of teaching her how to box. No, he was actually afraid! She shuddered at the mere possibility of the fight going her way.
"Ok come on you two, to the middle of the living room. Let's get this started," Heather said nonchalantly. She was just expecting this to be an easy win for Billy. Sure she had cleaned his clock a couple times, but her niece was nowhere near good enough of an athlete for him. She expected her to only get a few good shots in to improve her self-esteem.
They both took their place, facing each other. Only this time, Miranda seemed to have the upper hand, almost like she had Billy's number. She stood there brimming with confidence while he cowered from the occasion.
"Ok start!"
Billy's demeanor changed quickly as he realized that he was actually in a fight with his cousin, a fight that he badly needed to win. He was fairly confident that his mom wouldn't spill the beans, and his aunt was probably too drunk to even remember, so he could probably make up a story about letting her win. But his cousin would surely not let him live this down. The big bad boxing champion Billy, defeated by his younger bookworm of a cousin? The whole family would hear about it within hours. He had to beat her.
So he came out swinging, which was unexpected for his opponent. She had gotten used to the meek and demure Billy, so this aggressive version took her by surprise. He swung with a couple of hooks, that Miranda didn't see coming and so only barely dodged last second, before catching a few jabs to the face and body. She was taken aback so much that she moved backwards quickly to avoid the punches. Unfortunately for her she had hit a wall and sat there cornered as Billy approached.
He didn't give her a moment to rest as he continued waling on his cousin with punch after punch with her only dodging about every other one. He wasn't going all out, so they didn't hurt that bad, but she was clearly on the back foot and was in danger of losing without even putting up any fight. It all seemed hopeless, until she remembered her training.
She remembered about the clinch, and how boxers use it to try and escape tricky situations. It was her only hope, so she moved forward, ignoring her cousin's assaults, and wrapped her hands around him, trying to **** a break.
"Take it easy Billy, you don't want to hurt her do you?" At this point Billy was way too into the fight and ignored his mothers advice, looking to let out all his pent up frustration on his poor little cousin. To get out of the clinch, he just pushed Miranda back into the wall.
"Oof," she landed, pretty winded from everything. She didn't think she had much left in the tank. But he wouldn't even give her a second to catch her breath. Despite her laying on the wall for support while panting, Billy went in for the kill. A strong right hook that has knocked out many of his opponents before. This was it, a dominant win to reclaim his status as the family's boxing champion, and right in front of his mom. All he had to do was land this one punch.
Does He Land This One Punch?
