"Still no response?" Walt asked while stowing the supplies on board the ship in the cargo hold.

(("Negative, Boss. Your message has been "seen" but no response as yet from Mrs Kelley. At the risk of coming off as desperate, I could send another inquiry, Sir."))

Walt chuckled. "No. If we're going to be desperate I might as well go all in. Call, Carrie Kelley." That drew a laugh from Shocket and a few smirks from the others as they overheard.

(("Calling."))

The heads-up display showed the call going through and it made a subdued ring tone several times before picking up in audio only. "Hey there. Just calling to see if you wanted to spend sometime or go on a date before I'm under house arrest. Just kidding... Is that gun fire?" He'd trailed off and then asked as the sounds of battle filtered in on her end. "Sorry if I caught you at a bad time at work."

There were the sounds of more gunfire followed by zaps, sizzling sounds, shouting and the rumble of heavy machinery as Carrie responded. "Shit! Sorry! I meant to get back to you sooner but yeah... I'd love too but something came up at work. Something kinda big. Gawddammit! Covering fire and retrieve Superman. Pull him outta there! Sorry, unless things change I don't think I can. Batman really found some trouble this time."

Walt nodded and called up a holodisplay in his visual and started typing furiously having F.R.I.D.A.Y search for the source of her signal and covertly tracking PWBI transmissions. "Well that's too bad," he said lightly in a tone that didn't fit the facial expression he was making. "It's always a bummer when work interferes. I'd offer to help but..."

"Go now!" Carrie shouted followed by, "No. It is sweet of you but it's not your problem and you- hah!" Therw was the sound of something impacting something before she continued. "You shouldn't get involved, you know? Rain check?"

"Of course," he said looking at multiple visual displays in his HUD showing a scene more a kin to a massive battle or warzone raging rather than routine "super" policing. His fingers fair flew as his eyes darted taking in pitched battle which was a ballet of chaos, titanic war machines and super battle... and what 3S teams were immediately available and what they could do as he formulated a plan. "Offer's open so who knows. If things change, give me a call?"

"Will do... and thanks for understanding, Walt. Balls rad of you," she said warmly.

"No thanks necessary," he said as he signaled to the girls to wrap things up quickly. They nodded understanding from the look on his face that things were urgent and picked up their pace in a hurry as Rocket climbed towards the bridge and Linda scampered towards the engine room. "Just take care of yourself out there. I love you," he said quickly without thinking about it as he started checking his minimal gear, wishing he'd brought his suit with him... but maybe...

"Oh!" Carrie said her voice full of surprise bit sounding happy. "Uh, o-okay. Love you too! *Ahem* See you later!"

Walt nodded even though she couldn't see it. "Yup. I'll see you later. It's a date. Promise." The call ended. "Friday?"

(("Understood, Boss. Course laid in and request accepted. Awaiting your command. Alpha team is already enroute."))

Walt smiled knowing that even when he fought alone he was never without the support of Friday... 3S's involvement made things even easier. Still... he smirked as an idea came to him.

(("Your brainwaves spiked. You're plotting something further, aren't you." *Sigh*))

It wasn't a question. "You know me so well," he said before walking towards the hatch and whistling.

The Orks were having a good time singing 9 to 5 (the Sheena Easton song not the Dolly Parton one) while celebrating their latest victory. They, and Friday through the Canyonero, had had a rather good time. The War Boss looked up. "Oi! Whatchu want 'umie?"

Walt pulled out his phone and called up footage of a Titan wrecking devastation to show him. "Thought you boys might be interested in this..."

The War Boss smiled a toothy grin and clapped him friendly on the shoulder. "Aye! I like the way youze think! Oy you gitz! 'O wants to kick some wannabe stompas?!"

Walt took off his hat. He wasn't about to lose it doing some silly stunt or risk it being left behind on a mission as he pulled out a deceptively simple seeming black mask. The arrival of a rouge 40k Ork warband would add further chaos and make an infiltration mission even easier.
