Big Adventure

Kev was an ordinary guy with a simple and predictable life. On this particular weekend morning, he woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside his bedroom window. The sun gently filtered through the curtains of his apartment casting a warm glow in the room.

Kev stretched his arms lazily and yawned, feeling the remnants of sleep gradually fade away. He swung his legs out of bed and slipped his feet into a pair of cozy slippers. As he shuffled into the kitchen, he could smell the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air.

He glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing it was still early in the morning. With no pressing engagements or obligations, Kev decided to savor the leisurely pace of his weekend. He poured himself a cup of coffee, relishing in its rich flavor, and settled down on his favorite armchair.

Kev scrolled through his different phone apps without a care in the world. Although one thing bothered him, that his coworkers remarked how unexciting his life was. It was a holiday weekend and the highlight would be cleaning out his refrigerator. And for a few moments regret that he didn't really make any plans.

He decided it was time to start his day and headed towards the bathroom. He turned on the shower, letting the water warm up while he undressed.

As the steam filled the bathroom, Kev stepped into the shower, feeling the warm water cascade down his body. He stood there, lost in his own thoughts, the droplets of water washing away the remnants of sleep and preparing him for the unremarkable day ahead.

But suddenly the latter part of his shower was interrupted by incessant knocking on his front door, which he tried to ignore.
