Between worlds, an Eldritch peek

Blair watches the doorway carefully while taking a few steps back. Caesar kept barking, but nothing was coming through. Ellinor moved to Blair's side and clung onto her arm tightly. "We, we should leave." However, as she spoke, Caesar began to turn toward Blair while continuing to bark. His eyes were focused on the floor. By the time Blair realized what might be going on, her vision went dark. The next thing she knew she was surrounded by a dark viscous liquid.

She tried to pull the viscous liquid off but that didn't work. 'Ugh, this stuff is disgusting.' However, when she tried to take in her next breath, she found she was unable to do so. 'This isn't good.' Although worrisome, she didn't panic just yet. Just as she was about to cast Clean on her face. The viscous liquid began to be absorbed by her skin. An odd, pleasant sensation filled her body as an exclamation with the number two by it began to flash. Caesar whimpers softly while watching her.

She blinks a few times, looking herself over before looking around. Ellinor tilts her head slightly. Her expression and tone were filled with panic and worry. "Are you all right? What was that thing?" Caesar walks closer to Blair. Rubbing his muzzle against her right leg while whimpering again. Blair rubs the top of his head while offering a hand to Ellinor. "I don't know, but I feel good." Ellinor's expression and tone relax as she moves to Blair's side. "That's good, but things like that can be dangerous. We should get out of here and run some tests to find out what that was." Blair nods slightly while allowing those two exclamations to pop up.

Only passive effects may be applied in addition to normal attacks while in this state.

Every 5th attack will increase subsequent attacks by 100% while time is frozen.

Special note: All damage dealt while time is frozen cannot be mitigated. Time freeze will not affect Gods, Goddesses, or Eldritch beings.

Warning: Using this ability will cause a random Eldritch being to notice you.

Her eyes go wide. "Oh shit..." Ellinor's worried tone and expression return. "What's wrong?" Blair swallows. "An Eldritch Shadowling has merged with me, and I was granted a very strange ability." Ellinor blinks several times before shaking her head. "An Eldritch Shadowling?" There was a short pause. "Mm, now my head is starting to hurt." Blair tilts her head slightly. 'You're not the only one.' "Let's go home. We can talk about it on the way." Ellinor leans gently against Blair. "Okay..."

Blair casts Exit Illusion barrier, allowing them to exit. - 10 Mp The world shattered into a million pieces, but that was the only normal thing that happened. She found herself alone, surrounded by an endless sea of tendrils/tentacles, directly above her was a giant mouth filled with razor sharp teeth, directly in front of her in the sky was a fiery orange eyeball and behind her at the opposite end was an icy blue eyeball. Caesar and Ellinor were nowhere to be seen. That was when a female voice echoed from the fiery orange eyeball. "˙˙˙pıɐs ɐʇǝ,u˥ ɹo noʎ sɐ puɐɹɓ sɐ ʞool ʇ,usǝop ǝɥS ¿ɥʇoɥʇɐz∀ 'ɹǝɥ ʇɐɥʇ sI"

An old male voice emanates from the blue eyeball. "˙ʎʇısoıɹnɔ ɹnoʎ oʇ ǝnp ǝɯıʇ ɹǝɥ ɟo ɥɔnɯ ooʇ dn uǝʞɐʇ ǝʌ,ǝM ˙ɹıʇsƎ 'ǝɓpnɾ oʇ ʞɔınb ooʇ uǝǝq sʎɐʍlɐ ǝʌɐɥ no⅄ ˙ɹǝɥ s,ʇɐɥʇ 'sǝ⅄" Her surroundings shattered once again. When reality pieced itself back together, she found herself back in the abandoned rock quarry with Caesar and Ellinor. However, this incident only compounded her confusion. She looked around carefully, but she realized that she had been so upset when they came here that she hadn't a clue where she parked her car. 'Damn it...'

Ellinor looks into Blair's eyes. "Is everything okay?" Blair sighs softly. 'Yeah, I'm not telling her about what I just saw. That, that is just too much to focus on right now.' She shakes her head. "No, I don't remember where the car is." Caesar lets out a soft bark before running toward the edge of the quarry overlooking the area. He sniffs the ground for a few seconds before jumping into the air. However, something strange occurs. He doesn't come back down. His tail wags happily as he turns around and lets out another bark. Ellinor giggles. "It looks like he found it."

She looks at Blair and takes her hand. "Come on. Let's get out of here." Blair nods slightly as Ellinor pulls her toward the car. Once they were inside the car, they began driving toward the junkyard. She explained about the odd room and the item she found within. Caesar was laying quietly on Ellinor's lap. Ellinor listened carefully while petting Caesar. "That's an odd thing to find. Are you sure that was all that was in there?" Blair thinks back on the room beyond the door before shaking her head slightly. "No, but I think that was all we were allowed to see. I believe the Eldritch Shadowling knows more. At the very least I felt like someone was watching me while I was in there."

Ellinor looks out the window. "Hmm, that doesn't surprise me. That weird tuning fork is likely very powerful and dangerous. Speaking of which, I'd like to have a look at it when we get back." That was when Blair took a turn toward the city. Ellinor looks at Blair. "Where are we going?" Blair takes in a deep breath. "I need to pick up a bucket of fish, a kris dagger, and five candles." Caesar looks at Blair and lets out a soft whimper. She blinks. "Oh, and food." His tail begins to wag. Ellinor giggles while rubbing the top of Caesar's head. "Ah, okay. Food sounds good." Blair smiles, glancing at Ellinor before focusing on the road. "Is there anything you'd like to eat?"

Ellinor brightly smiles. "Pizza. I haven't had any in ages." Blair looks at Caesar. "What do you think boy? Would you like some pizza?" He tilts his head slightly. After a brief pause, she chuckles. "Oh, right. You haven't had pizza before. I'm pretty sure you'll like it." They call a local pizza place, making an order for an extra-large, extra cheese and meat lovers pizza. They pick up something to drink before finding a nice, secluded place to eat. During this time, Caesar is deeply sniffing the pizza box.

She takes out a slice, causing his nose to follow it as he licks his lips. Ellinor pulls him gently back. "Let it cool down first. You don't want to burn your tongue." After blowing on it a few times, Blair allows him to eat it. He takes a bite and chews it. Almost immediately after, he scarfs the rest of the slice down before looking for more. Ellinor giggles, pulling away the pizza box. "Caesar, you need to calm down. This is supposed to feed all of us." He turns around and starts licking her face. "Ah! Hehe."

She giggles more, handing the box to Blair. "Help! I'm under attack!" Blair takes a slice from the box while watching them. "I don't know who needs more help. You or him." Ellinor sticks her tongue out at Blair before being slurped again by Caesar. This continues for another minute or so before Blair gives him another slice. After a couple more slices, he finally calms down enough to allow them to eat in peace. While they eat, Blair tells Ellinor about the incubation timer, which had just ticked to 23 hours remaining.

Ellinor licks her lips after finishing a slice of pizza. "That doesn't sound good, but then again normally something bad will cause pain when it starts." She lifts a hand to Blair's cheek and caresses. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you. So, be careful, okay?" Blair nuzzles Ellinor's hand before kissing her palm. "I'll do my best." However, her mind was thinking back on the weird sight from earlier. 'Whomever they were, they didn't sound like they were concerned about me. But still. That was eerie...' Is this Eldritch Shadowling friend or foe? Will the summoning of Ln'eta go well or not?
