Betty Box finds you in the equipment closet

You say something that convinces Margarita and Olivia that you will be fine here in the equipment closet behind the bowling lanes. Margarita helps you into your bottoms. They leave.

You lie in a soft haze of pleasure, listening to the pins falling, being swept by the blade, and being set up again. It is a happy rumble of balls, clatter of pins, and murmur of machinery all together.

"Anna?"

You blink awake. "Betty?"

Brenda's stepdaughter is standing in the doorway. The scent of fancy cooking tickles your nose. Maybe she just came from her restaurant job.

"Yeah, cookie. You look blitzed. What happened?"

She looks worried. Though she is not a blood relative, Betty has the same body shape as Brenda. Almost like Brenda's younger sister who had the marks of a rough life.

You laugh happily. "I brought Olivia and Margarita back here where you took me. They made me come so hard!"

"Don't make any more trouble for me, huh?" Betty says. She sniffs the air. "Okay kid, looks like it's you and me doing cleanup and me taking you home."

You realize that the bowling noises have stopped. It's late.

"Yes. Let me text Dot and tell her not to worry."

"Tell her you're getting a ride, just don't say who."

"Okay?"

Betty continues, "And don't either of us tell Brenda we saw each other. I still need her to make things work with me and my dad."

"Why is that?"

"Because now I'm back in the family, in my own place, with a real job, not living out of my car. Dad disowned me for being a dyke and a tramp and a drifter. Brenda fixed things with Dad. She helped me not be a drifter. I'm always gonna be a dyke. She talked him over. The rest of it is nobody's business, except that Brenda pissed all over you college girls like you belong to her. So."

"Okay then. I have a ride. If anyone asks, I did not see anyone."

"That's right."

You wonder what Kelly invited you all for. You wonder why it's Betty finding you here after hours. But you do not wonder too much.

So you clean together. It will make Betty happy.

"Fuck, you are a sexy little bit, Anna," Betty mutters.

You can tell she bit off "bitch" before the "ch". She is holding herself back.

So you pretend you did not hear her. Until the cleanup is done. Betty deserves to be happy, so you don't want to make any trouble.

Maybe Betty would take you to her place? But that is for later.
