You look at the growing crowd around you. Dozens of pale women eye you, you know if their leader willed it they would be on you in a second. You don't like the idea of being indebted to this woman but you're so close to unimaginable power, once you have it she'll be in no position to demand anything from you.
"Very well, I believe we have an agreement Miss...?"
"Ah, you may call me Carmilla." You stifle an eyeroll over her choice of moniker. "And I believe I'll be able to find you when I need to."
Carmilla motions to the relic with a flourish and you grasp it with both hands. You feel the power like an electric shock, you're sure it has what you need to open the portal.
You leave with the relic in hand, two of Carmilla's followers follow you closely until you reach the door as 'insurance'.
"Good luck..." One hisses in a slightly mocking tone as you push the door open. You can just make out pillars of smoke in the distance, only to hear rumbling as dark shapes rush towards you. Before they reach you fire rains down from the sky on them, and a pair of fiendishly hot hands wrap around you and lift you into the sky. You look up to see Jenny's familiar face.
"Is that what we're looking for?"
"It certainly is."
"Then let's get the hell out of here before those weeds get any bigger, they already got everyone else." Jenny takes off back towards the mansion, you can see the unnatural plant life has spread dramatically in the short amount of time you've been here, entire buildings are choked by roots, stems, and leaves.
When you arrive at the mansion you're hurried to the portal. All that's left is to hope this remnant of the house's power will be able to power the portal.
