Being Nice!

"Sup y'all." You flashed a grin as you greeted the competitors.

Amongst the responses, you see some wave at you, some roll their eyes for whatever reason, and a couple of women swooning. Immediately one of them runs up to you, almost invading your personal space. "Hi! I'm Beth! It's so nice to meet you! Your eyes look so so nice!" Her bubbly demeanor made her cute to an extent, especially as a nerd. You wipe some of the saliva away. "Wow! They look so sparkly!" She tip-toed to look right into your eyes.

"Thank you." You gave her a wide berth. "Name's Chad. You seem excited to be here." Although most of your buddies were athletes, that didn't mean you'd go out of your way to be an asshole toward the nerds, let alone bully them. Beth included.

"I'm so -" Beth couldn't finish because the sound of a whirling helicopter interrupted them. Infamous Canadian star Chris McLean stepped out of the aircraft, dressed very well for the occasion. Everyone turned their attention towards him.

He flashed a grin that showed off his pearly white teeth. "Welcome to Total Drama Island! For the next several weeks, you'll be staying at this rundown abandoned summer camp! Not only will you have to deal with each other, but also the dangerous environment! Bugs! Wildlife creatures!"

"An egomaniac." You barely hear that goth girl mutter something.

"I'm your host: Chris McLean! The last person standing will win a grandiose prize of one million dollars! Pretty worth staying around if I do say so myself!" You glance around at your competition. Whatever challenges and surprises Chris had in store, you were ready.

"Now, before we get to the fun stuff, we first need you all to unpack your stuff over there." Chris pointed at the two cabins. "Girls get the right, dudes get the left. Figure out your sleeping arrangements within the next thirty minutes! McLean out!" With that, he left to go do his own thing, whatever celebrities did on their free time. You took a deep breath and began making your way over there.
