Behind The Scenes: The Girls Meet

Emily leaves your cell furious, as the other girls can all tell she’s annoyed and frustrated. Natalie and Valerie enter {Emily’s} office to check in on her after her meeting with you.

“Lucas?” Valerie asks immediately. Emily nods.

“What’d he do now?” Natalie asks.

Emily crosses her arms defensively.

If I can control Lucas without even having any sort of feelings for him, then certainly it sets up you four being able to control the four boys you like and us proving ourselves as the victors. That’s the goal here. It’s making sure that we establish a culture of winning and dominating, and set the girls of the future up for success in the coming years too that we can win this and the boys shouldn’t mess with us.” Emily replies. Valerie and Natalie look concerned and worried.

“Emily… The whole point of making someone your boyfriend is that you like them. The whole point of your first kiss is that it’s with a boy you really like and care about a lot and you want to remember fondly for the rest of your life. “Then I think you need to be blunt and honest with the other girls that when you say Lucas is your boyfriend for the summer and you’re keeping him caged that you don’t actually like him and that you’re doing this to win the war, prove a point and establish dominance and a culture of strength and toughness. If you’re doing this to represent the girls, you should tell them what you’re doing and why.” Natalie tells her. She looks down a mix of disappointment and frustration that the girls aren’t understanding her and what she wants.

“So hypothetically speaking, if I told you I did like Lucas for example. That I did have a crush on him. That I want him to be mine. Would that change anything?” She looks up, curiously, but still seriously. Not a hint of embarrassment or happiness or nerves. Completely stoic.

“Well, yeah. That’s what makes everything else worth it. That’s why you do all of those other things.” Natalie says.

“Obviously. If you did actually have a crush on him and fall in love with him, it would be so cute.” Valerie says smiling dreamily.

Emily takes a deep breath and sighs. She looks down slightly disappointed. She feels stuck and isn’t sure what to do at this point.

“Fine.” She says nodding.
