Begin the experiment.

You, Eva, Niki, and Amara gather together in yet another room of the mysterious tower. This time, the room is made of stone bricks, and several tables hold various tomes, vials filled with different coloured liquids, and strange alchemical reagents. You can hear the hum of magical equipment, but other than that, the room is completely silent. Each step reverberates off the cold stone walls. Lord Rada and Barkis wheel out what looks to be a hospital bed and park it nearby, and then another, until four sit next to one another.

"This place creeps me out," Niki mutters.

"Please lay here," Barkis says to you.

You climb onto one the beds and lay back. "What are you gonna do?"

"This is my speciality," he replies. He places a series of strange flat stones along your body. "Please lay still. I'm going to examine you as deeply as I can. It'll help if you close your eyes and relax."

Though it's certainly not comfortable, you sigh and attempt to follow his suggestion.

The man brings his hands up and down over your body, humming as he does. You feel an odd warm tingle. Each of the stones pulse with energy, and you start to feel light-headed and dizzy. Within your mind, while your eyes are shut, you start to envision your name, level, class, and everything else you learned how to access. It's a similar feeling to times you've levelled up.

"What are you seeing?" Rada asks.

Barkis ponders. "Hmm. What he said is true. Kyle Warren, class unknown. Fifth level. The idea of Goa making such a flaw is unlikely."

"Have you heard of this happening before?"

"... It is not impossible for such a thing to occur, but the reason is unknown. I'm absolutely thrilled. We could, theoretically, discover the truth right here in this very room. You could be helping any others that may suffer the same fate in the future, Kyle. This is revolutionary. It will be if it works, anyhow." He thinks for a moment longer. "The power of swordsmanship, mixed with fire. Fixing objects. Tendrils to trap others. Strangest of all, flooding others with sexual pleasure. This is certainly no class known by me."

"Can you see what I'll learn in the future?" you ask.

"No. Such a thing is unknown to me. But I believe it's time to start the next part of the experiment." He begins retrieving his stones as he speaks. "This is when I'll need the help of your friends. I can only do so much. With their help, we may learn much more, depending on how reliable they are. You've been travelling together for some time, correct? Then you must trust them enough."

Uh oh.

"Yeah he does!" Niki exclaims. "Whatever we need to do, just tell us."

"Wonderful." Lord Barkis pats one of the other beds. "All of you lay down as well. I'm going to place Kyle into a sleep deeper than he's ever experienced. You'll then all head inside his mind, and find the memories yourselves."

Eva places her hand on your face. "We'll be in his head? I guess we'll have to make sure not to mess anything up in there."

"We will be most careful." Amara smiles as she holds your right arm. "I have heard stories of such a process. If the three of us do this together, we should be safe."

Niki leaps onto one of the beds with a loud squeak. "Let's go then! I'd love to see what goes on in Kyle's head. It's probably really embarrassing."

While they move to lay down as well, you look to Barkis with a worried expression. "Is this safe?"

"I will be standing guard just in case things get too dangerous," he replies. "But don't mistake a nightmare for real danger. You need to overcome your fears, and delve far into your own psyche. Niki. Amara. Eva. Once inside, you must follow him and find the core of his memories. Once all of you are together, you should be able to probe deep into his memories and find out exactly what happened the day you came here."

From one thing straight to the other. So much happened the other day that I guess I should be glad this involves me sleeping. Though I wonder if I'll ever have time to have a real vacation. Something tells me that isn't going to happen too often.

"Tell me when you're ready," Lord Barkis says. "And I will begin."

"Ready!" Niki says.

"I am as well," says Amara.

Eva nods. "I'm also ready. Let's do it."

You take a deep breath. "I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

Barkis raises his hands. "Then close your eyes and relax. Find each other. Be safe. Learn what you can... Now, Deep Sleep!"
