What option to take?
Beg for safety
With the last of her energy Jessica rushed to the door where the purple burning incense filled the air with acrid smoke.
"Please let me! There is a beast out here. " she begged, as she pounded at the door. She threw a glance over her shoulder, but the abandoned carriages blocked her view of the beast's progress at this angle.
"Go away!" came a voice from within. High but masculine.
"Please sir, I... I can make it worth your while." Jessica offered, desperate.
"Take your beastly temptations elsewhere, now be gone with you before you bring-" the man within responded.
"PLEASE sir, I am... desperate." Jessica begged again, banging the door with a fist.
A long silence filled the air. Jessica searched for the dark beast again, but still no sign.
Then mechanical noises behind the door and it opened to reveal a sickly looking man with yellow eyes covered in bandages.
"Quickly" he hissed, holding some kind of sprayer in his off hand.
Jessica ducked inside, seeing the beast just feet away from her as she was ushered inside.
The man quickly shut the door and re-latched it. He then dropped back into his wheelchair, a plainer contraption than the old man had, his energy expect.
Jessica breathed heavy, almost uncertain if she was truly safe.
The man was curious, he did not have the typical Yharnam look to him. his features too soft and rounded to be like the rest of the lot. That was what she could see of him. He was tightly bound in bandages and appeared to wearing sick clothes. His wheelchair was set up to allow a vial of blood to be loaded for blood ministration, though none hung there now.
"What are you looking at?" the man glowered at her.
Giving a moment's pause to the man's naked irritation she responded "I... you... weren't what I expected.
The man let the words hang in the air. Outside the beast made no noise as if listening in as well. The man sighed. "I'm a sick man. Wealthy, but what is wealth if not paired with health. I came here to yharnam for treatment. It has bought me time, but it has not cured me." He exhaled, as if the failure was on his part and not the miracle of blood that had failed him.
"Don't worry about compensation lass. You're welcome to stay the night here or brave the night again as you choose. I won't keep you." the man rambled, now wheeling himself further into his home.
