Chapter 5 by Elrasqal Elrasqal

What type of Faunus do you pick?

Become Faunus

The new pop-up screen makes me pause. The combo description, Animal Magnetism, never mentioned anything like this. But it already gives me food for thought I hadn't considered.

Become a Faunus. The animal-human hybrids of Remnant. They all had something to their appearances or biology that hinted towards animal heritage or symbolism. Cat ears, like Blake. Spotted, color-changing skin and curled hair, like Ilia. A tail, like Neon.

I rattle off the traits in my head. Animal eyes, ears, tails, appendages, senses, behaviors, and more. Then I return my eyes to the screen, still glowing patiently.

Like all decisions, there were clear pros and cons. Doing this would change me, and fundamentally alter what I am. My mind rushes through the possibilities. There were certainly good things to choosing this route.

My memories have dug up something I read on a RWBY forum once, discussing how most Faunus were granted night vision by the storywriters. Even though the excitement and nervousness of...whatever this situation is courses through my veins like adrenaline, I can't help but think about the ramifications of living in Remnant. The world where dangerous beasts, Grimm, roamed uncivilized lands and attacked whatever was in sight, relying on a mysterious sixth sense to sniff out emotions and their sources.

I'm probably gonna have to fight them. If I'm going to be transported to--actually, hold that thought!

I wave my hand to grab the screen's attention. "Hey, screen, can you give me any details about my starting situation?"

[Since you have not configured all of your starting settings, it is impossible to completely predict the outcome of an instance involving you spawning into Remnant, Conquerer. Also keep in mind that there are several pieces of information that you are not able to access as of yet due to inexperience, the need to discover them yourself, or that your main goal percentage bar is too low. However, that doesn't mean everything is restricted to you. What do you wish to know?]

"Two things at the moment. You probably don't have an exact location where I'm gonna start, but can I get the general area? Also, will I become a general nobody or a Huntsman?"

[The first piece of information is classified, Conquerer. And no, as an anticipatory measure, you wouldn't have been able to change where you are starting even if you were told. But you may know that the system for determining your starting location is not random. You will be placed exactly where you need to be based on the perceived difficulty of this playthrough. As for the second piece of information, you will start as a Huntsman no matter what your starting settings look like. There is no outcome where you will not become a member of this group.]

"What do you mean by playthrough?" As in a game?! Is this a game?

[This piece of information is classified. Complete the task Lay One Hundred Women of Remnant to gain access.}

I guess not everything is going to be easy. But that mystery is certainly something I can puzzle over later. For now, my train of thought returns to my earlier worries.

I'm going to become a Huntsman. I'm going to be at one of the four Huntmen academies--actually, I can't know that. Being a Huntsman will send me everywhere and anywhere to fight. I may even spawn during a battle. My fists clench at the thought.

The grand concern of fucking a hundred women is certainly weighing on me, but I need to be alive for that to have any chance of happening.

I can't imagine I could seduce the Grimm into letting me live. Plus, I'm not the kind of guy to enjoy raging ****.

I shake my head, dispelling the images of...animal stuff. So I've got to be able to fight. Either the Grimm or Salem's puppets...

Being able to see in the dark, owning animal-level reflexes, and getting a few special traits depending on the animal I choose have their uses. I'd argue that they almost outweigh the downsides.

I hold out my hand, counting off fingers as I go. "Let's see. Discrimination at the civilian and government level, second-class citizenship, restrictive work practices, racial ****, ideological vision--"

I switch to the other hand, continuing. "Rogue elements, the White Fang, the eventual Red Fang--if I last that long--no service in most businesses, and a generally precarious living. Did I forget anything?"

The screen unexpectedly comes to the rescue.

[Do not forget the issues involving mating season. You will be just as lust-stricken as other Faunus, and the effects of your pheromones will be almost three times as strong. If you do not proceed with caution during this time, you can be affected by the combo ability Animal Magnetism.]

I gulp. Oh. Oh...Three times as strong? My dick is already stiffening at the thought. If I actively emit pheromones while experiencing the effects of the Faunus mating season, in combination with Blake's Heat, then I wouldn't be surprised if I made orgies happen in seconds. I'm suddenly quite glad that I didn't pick Raven. My dick would snap off. No question.

"Hey, screen?"

[Yes?]

"If my pheromones are amplified, then...is it possible to make non-Faunus girls lustful as well?"

[This piece of information is classified. Progress in the task -UNKNOWN- to gain access.]

...I think that's a yes. That alone would make this choice worth it. Everything else is the frosting on top, as far as I'm concerned.

What kind of Faunus?
