Becky considers her future

after many hours of driving and swapping places Becky and Kay lee stopped to get food and stretch their legs.

they ordered their food and sat down to wait.

after a while their food came and they were quietly eating, Becky was absently nibbling on a french fry when Kay lee spoke.

"Becky?"

Becky glanced at her.

"hmm?"

Kay lee licked her lips then sipped her drink.

"Becky, six months ago when we had our fallin' out ye mentioned that ye had planned on preposin' te me."

Becky sucked her french fry into her mouth and chewed.

"yeah."

Kay lee looked up at her.

"do ye still feel that way?"

Becky took a moment to answer.

"I've been askin' myself that question." Becky said quietly.

"and?"

"gettin' a little nosey" Becky teased.

Kay lee gave her 'that look."

a look she tended to use when she wasn't in the mood for bullshit.

"sorry. " Becky apologized.

"I don't know, Kaylee. we're good now so I've been considerin' it."

Kay lee smiled.

"take yer time. I don't want ye rushin inta' somethin' ye're na sure of."

Kay lee smiled and Becky fed her a french fry.

then she did the same for Becky.

Becky crammed a few fries in her mouth.

"french fry kiss" Becky said around them as she and Kay lee kissed around a mouthful of fries.

after they had eaten their fries and burgers they headed back to the car.

"I wonder how Tegan and Dakota are doin'?" Becky pondered

"they seemed pretty cozy there if ya know what I mean."

Kay lee grinned.

"gettin some French fry kisses o' their own are they?"

Becky smiled.

"seemed that way.

they were enemies a long time. I hope they can handle a trip alone and Dakota doesn't leave Tegan in the desert somewhere.

meanwhile on a deserted interstate at 1 am...

"we're lost!" Dakota shouted.

"we are NOT LOST..I just ...don't know where we are.." Tegan said uneasily as she turned the map around again.

"this wouldn't have HAPPENED if you'd let ME drive!"

"fine then! YOU DRIVE!"

Tegan yelled back tired of being blamed for taking the wrong turn off when Dakota had been reading her the map and navigating.

"fine I WILL!"

suddenly Dakota wrapped her arms around her and they were kissing hungrily.

Dakota pushed Tegan back against the driver side door and in the dim overhead lights of the car on darkened interstate road they made out, lips smacking loudly in the quiet car.

at least until a highway patrol car stopped to investigate.

after talking to the officer and explaining they were on their way to Texas and had stopped to 'rest'

they were left alone again.

"oh that was embarrassing!" Dakota muttered.

"Im just glad we were still DRESSED!" Tegan said equally relieved.

they switched places, with Dakota driving while Tegan tried to understand the map.

but Dakota , as she had tried to explain before, had driven the area a few times and knew it well.

they drove on toward the show.
