Chapter 44 by TVWintergreen TVWintergreen

What's next?

Beach party

Fin’s ears were twitching and wiggling back and forth. His big bushy tail swayed behind him with an uneven and erratic rhythm. All these, as well as the expression he held of blushed regret with red eyes simultaneously dilated and turned down showed that he was completely lubricated in a whole other sense of the word. The fox was drunk. Heilan was on the receiving end of his sad-drunk barrage.

“I’m- I’m just… So sorry that I did that stuff to you.” He sniffles.

Heilan scratched her cheek. “It’s… literally in the past, Fin.” She offered. Heilan herself was on her twelfth drink.

“Also… please don’t feel obligated to keep up with me. I’m kinda built different at this point!” She remarked proudly.

Fin squinted at her. “Heilan…” He gets bleary-eyed.

“Heilan you got so strong.” Fin’s lip quivered as he bent forward and hugged her.

“We were both immature back then.” She admitted warmly.

“I didn’t even do it for good reasons, though. I just wanted Kara to like me.”

The dogfolk’s eye twitched. She grabbed his shoulders and put him at a distance. “Hah!? You mean to say you didn’t even ‘like me’ like me?”

Fin turned his gaze down sadly. “I thought I could… but it wasn’t the goal and I went about it badly and triggered things in you that left you open to all sorts of stuff…” He sniffled.

Heilan took a deep breath. She inhaled, then exhaled, then inhaled. Breathing exercises that she had become all too familiar with.

“Yeah. I got over it eventually. Still, hearing you say this brings up a lot of bad memories. Hmm.” She eyes him.

“I forgive you. Honestly, I ended up here because of the stuff that happened. Even if it wasn’t ‘good’ I wouldn’t do it over, and it sounds like you would, soooo, yeah. You’re good.”

“Heilan!” Fin looked touched.

“Thank youuu.”

“Yup.” She gave a thumbs up and knocked back her thirteenth drink instantly, turning liquid in the mug into a vortex to swallow it faster with her energy.

Heilan in her days had travelled far and wide once she realised she was not welcome in Fin and Raithe’s exclusive relationship. They made it clear that she was always welcome to hang around, but her kind were restless, always looking for something to do. She travelled the world, taking advantage of her near immortality. Eventually her travels landed her in the east…

Heilan landed in a particular dojo under an unassuming teacher. The boy looked a lot like an Aoian Fin, which drew her to him. He was unexpectedly very strong, and no matter who came to challenge him it never seemed like anything would ever defeat him, and nothing ever did for as long as she remained there.

In her time, Heilan learned the fundamentals of Energy Control. In the west Knights used Soma to increase their strength directly. They combined it with Aura often for offensive power. In Aoia the paradigm was completely shifted. Aoians used their Soma’s latent potential to unlock the energy that it created. Rather than channel their energy into static strength and vitality increases they taught to save and reserve Energy for a burst of power, or some other application that would’ve required too much for any Knight to take advantage of. Through the teacher's passive instruction Heilan developed her Soma and her Energy, and eventually passed the threshold into becoming a Great Master by perfecting her technique. She based it off of her Master and called it ‘Persistence.’ By tying her Energy to an opponent she could match them through subtle, strategic gains over the course of a fight. Of course this was with stronger and equally matched opponents. For most of those that thought to challenge her that were weaker she could simply use her Energy Alone to shock them to their knees.

Persistence… She though, looking up.

“Hey, Fin. Is there any chance for ‘us?’ You know… you and me… A-and Raithe, of course! It’s been a long time.”

“Uhm…” Fin blushed.

“I’m sorry.”

Heilan smiled and nodded her head solemnly. “Say no more.” She sighed and got up, taking a glass to go.

This is a club I’m not invited to. Not exactly She sipped her drink slowly, panning her gaze around the beach party. The Mood was high and the beach was beautiful. The South of Trysk near Fennek was positively stunning, but she wasn’t sure what she was doing there.

“Haaah… What was I thinking.”

“Drink, Ma’am?” She looked up to see a huge Wolf in a comically tight button-up dress shirt and red vest. He was one of the waiters for the event. She smiled, finished her drink and popped it down on his tray upsidedown before grabbing another.

“Yeah, good work. You got a number?” She smiled wryly.

He blinked. “Ye-yeah I do!” He bent down and whispered it to her. She happily punched the contact into her Comm.

“I’ll see you later, yeah?” She waved coyly.

“Oh boy~” He intoned excitedly. Heilan chuckled. A minute later he had seemingly returned.

“A drink, Ma’am?”

She chuckled. “You hovering around me, now? Not that I’m complaining.”

He looked confused. “Sorry? I… don’t think I’ve served you yet.”

Her eye twitched. “You fucking serious?”

“Ma’am!?” He was startled as she pulled on his vest collar.

“Pretending you don’t know me already!?” She barked.

He motioned over with his head. “Wait wait! It was probably my bro! My brother!”

“Eh?” She glanced over and saw the wolf glancing in her direction bashfully. She waved at him, then looked at the one she had in her grasp and released him. He breathed a sigh of relief.

“Twins, huh?” Her tail began to wag.

“Yup! We’ve been twins ever since we were born.” He offered as a genuine piece of information. Heilan grinned.

“Heh… You two do ‘everything’ together, I bet.”

The wolf swallowed and pulled on his collar. “Well…”

“You did good, pop pop.” Sona patted Fin hard on the back. She had tried to keep up but got lost somewhere around her fifth drink.

“Really? You really think so, Sunny?” Fin asked genuinely, swaying in his seat at the bar. Sona blushed.

“I’m not a kid anymore! I can drink on my own and I- I can have kids on my own.”

“Oh Sunny…” Fin looked at her apologetically.

“You’re drunk, so i’ll le-le-let it slide.” She almost fell back off her own stool, but Fin caught her, pulling her into a hug as he got a bit giggly.

“You’re drunk too, Sunny.” He gasped.

“Wait… you don’t like it when I call you Sunny. You’re not a kid anymore…” He repeated what she had just said as if he came up with it on his own.

“Hic…”

Sona huffed. “It’s okay, pop.”

Fin looked down sentimentally. “Your mom wanted to call you Sona, and your mom wins… but I always felt like you are a ‘Sunny’ to me. It’s… hic… it’s because the flowers practically bloomed when you were around them. You loved them so much, too. You’re the only one that loves it all so much…” He mumbled into his half-full cup of booze.

“You still like flowers?” He looked at her.

“Yeah, pop.” She said quietly, her face bright red.

“Wazzat you were saying about having kids?” He asked curiously.

“I can if I want to…”

“Yeah.” Fin nodded along.

“You can do whatever you want. Anything y- hic!- Yuh want.”

“Well I did it.”

“Hm?” He looked up.

“I-I’m pregnant!”

“Wah!?” He threw his hands up and looked at her in shock.

“D-does-”

“Mama doesn’t know. It’s a girl. I’m gonna name her Lajoi. I’ll tell her it’s after my Joi, but I’ll tell you papa, that it’s because I liked it when you called me Sunny. I want her to always be reminded that she My Joi, too.”

Fin teared up. “Sunny…” They both hugged each-other tightly and warmly. Fin suddenly asked seriously.

“Who’s the father? Or… did you make her yourself?”

Sona exhaled a light sigh. “The Father is someone you know well, Pop.”

“Good.” He smiled, rubbing her back.

In their own corner of the event under the shade of a palm Vura asked Osha while pointing at Fin and Sona.

“What’s up with them?”

“Drunk…” The fox-bear said simply., lifting her coconut to take a sip from the straw. The Grau had grown up in a harsh society that valued strength above all else. When she was forcefully converted her muscles, so much of what made her proud, faded over time until she had become so soft. She was still around seven-feet tall, and her tits were well in proportion. She was wearing a bathing suit that showed them off quite prominently. Her bikini bottom also being just low enough to show a pronounced oval tuft of stark white hair. She found herself eying Vura whenever the woman wasn’t eying her. Her cheeks were flushed and it wasn’t from the ****.

“O-oh!” Vura nodded awkwardly.

“I meant, like, what was going on.”

“No fuckin’ clue.” The Grua shrugged.

“Yeah.” Vura stared off to the side, rocking back and forth on her heels.

“Your tits look nice…”

“Shit, thanks.” Osha says genuinely, her eyes opening wide as she stared down at Vura. Vura was a blonde fox that was not exactly delicate. She had tone. She was strong. They were both in security. While Osha used her size, Vura used speed and skill.

“I like the way you- you don’t look like a pale doll. You don’t hide your scars. We’re alike.” She said proudly with a firm nod. Vura’s scars around her neck and Osha’s scars all over were on display in their bikini’s.

Vura got close, hooking her arm around Osha’s as she asked. “Have you… thought about getting back into shape?”

Osha blinked. “I think about it a lot!”

Vura smiled nervously. “Ho-how about we make up some gym dates and go together!” She blurted out.

“F-fuck yeah!” Osha exclaimed. Both of their faces were bright red.

Back at the bar Fin was laying his head in his folded arms on the flattop. “I’m g-gonna be a grandpa.” He sobbed. It was Sona’s turn to rub his back.

“Why were you drinking, Papa?” She asked delicately. Sona had been a bit worried for a while. Ever since the party started. Her mother and Luire were notable absences. Looking down he explained.

“Your mother said this trip is the trip where we settle the ambiguity between us with Luire…”

Sona gasped. “O-oh, papa. I’m so sorry…”

In his drunken state he admitted in a low voice. “I don’t like her sometimes.”

Sona gulped and leaned in. “Mama?” Fin nodded.

“I love her… I love her more than anything, but sometimes I don’t like her. It can get bad. But…” He took a deep, shaking inhale of sea air through his nostrils, but it didn’t seem to do anything to clear his head. His tight, slender feminine body was curled up on the seat, his face half hidden. His tail was curled down under the stool. He smiled weakly.

“I like Luire all the time.”

“I see.” It did not feel good to hear her father say that, but she could tell he was being truthful. He was being unfiltered.

“You aren’t thinking you and Mama might spl-”

He shook his head vehemently. “Never. We can’t. We’ll never… We’ll be together forever. We won't die, it’ll be the two of us, always together. We won't change.” He was just murmuring, almost to himself at that point. Sona continued patting his back, but turned around to get a good look at the horizon. The tropical landscape. She closed her eyes and felt the warm air and inhaled it. It was sobering. Hearing her father speak so frankly was also sobering.

“Papa… what if there was a way to change everything? What if- what if we could just… reset and all of us could-” She stopped, looking at him and noticing that he had fallen asleep. She looked at him for a long time, then felt relieved that he did not actually hear what she said. Sona stood up and walked away to make a call. She stepped into a secluded little burrow.

“Hey, it’s me. I think you’re right. I think it’s probably a good thing, but we have to do it on MY terms, and nobody gets hurt, understand?” She shook her head and responded firmly.

“I understand that means it’s going to take a while. Are you worried about running out of time, Miss Coda?” She smirked as the woman on the other end spoke.

“I thought so. Tell you what… if things go the way I think they will with Mama suppressing Papa’s happiness through Luire, I’ll think about speeding things along.” She hung up and inhaled, resolving to come back to a place like this at least once per year. The sun was setting, so she knew the fireworks would be starting soon and she would know whether or not she needed to act.

Heilan was also watching the sunrise. She was suddenly enjoying herself a lot more than she had been. She was sat on a couch, a cock in each hand on either side of her. The two wolf twins were bent forward, licking around her neck and face as she enjoyed the view.

“M-miss Heilan, is it really okay for us to stop working to do this?”

“Shut up, bro! Of course it’s okay! Miss Heilan said so!” He argued over her head. Her ears perked, then twitched as the other responded in kind.

“How am I supposed to know! I’m just asking, anyway. Is that so bad? You’re an idiot for not making sure!”

“Boys!” Heilan shouted. The two wolves perked up and craned their heads down to look at her, one of them cringing as he came first, spurting a good distance, then drizzling it down her hand.

“Hah!” The other pointed.

“You ca- Uooh…” He woofed as he as came, shooting a similar distance. With one eye open a little more while he was still in throws he exclaimed.

“Mi-mine shot further!”

“No way!”

“Let’s measure it!”

“I’m game, get the tape!”

“Gotta take into account who was sitting further back.”

“Yeah, true…” The other nodded.

“BOYS!” Heilan screamed. Both of them snapped to attention.

“Shut up and enjoy the moment…” She ran her hand up their backs to their heads, stroking between their ears as she pulled them down to cuddle with her. She smiled and breathed a contented breath.

“So soft and fuzzy~”

“Yo, sis?”

Heilan knew the voice. She tilted her head back and saw the upside-down visage of her older sister Leinan.

“What’s up? I’m busy.”

“Dad doesn’t support that plan of yours… he says it goes against everything our clan stands for. Pretty sure the others won't go for it either.”

“Tch…” Heilan tilted her head back and stared straight ahead.

“Dad doesn’t get it.”

“I know. But I do. How about you let me try to talk to him a bit more before we go in all… arms blazing?”

“Sure.” Heilan shrugged.

“You’re gonna teach me those tricks you learned, too, right?” She asked eagerly, her tail practically helicoptering her off the ground. Her but was raised up and she was leaned forward on her toes with her hands clasped together in front of her.

“Oh yeah. I wanna make you a Great Master, too…” She said genuinely. Heilan knew her sister had gotten older while she remained young. She was the perpetual younger sister, though Leinan treated her like the elder after seeing her strength. Heilan knew that if Leinan could master Soma she could rejuvenate her whole body. She could live like a Fox if she wanted to.

“I was surprised to hear you suggest it, though… But you’re right. If we trigger our peoples negative instincts instead of suppressing them we could create a formidable fighting **** that wouldn’t be easily influenced by anybody. Where’d you even think about that?”

Heilan stared straight as the sun dipped. “I got the idea from someone close to me… It was high risk and low reward when he did it… I think we can pull it off and do it right, this time.”
