While you weren’t in a hurry to find **** so soon after your spawn, you also shuddered to think of the tedium of hunting enough critters and other lower level mobs to gain some levels. Returning to the paths where you’d found the tracks and inspecting them again you found it was likely a single adventurer traveling the path. The depth and size of the tracks led you to believe it was either a smaller male or female adventurer clad in lighter armor. Maybe a ranger or tamer searching the forest for a suitable low level animal companion?

Your golden eyes narrowed in thought as you think for a moment before settling on your course of action. Hunting the adventurer it was. With luck you could gain a good chunk of the experience needed towards your next level with a single kill. This in mind you begin to follow the tracks, remaining aware of your surroundings as you progress.

Before long you begin to hear the sounds of movement ahead of you. You pause, cocking your head to listen closer. If this is an adventurer they had to be new. There was no way that an experienced ranger would make that much noise even if they weren’t following a trail. A feral grin spreads across your face as you leave the path and begin to circle around to get ahead of the careless adventurer. You seclude yourself in the shadow of a small thicket not far off the path and wait. As you hide a second possibility for why your approaching prey is making so much noise enters your head. Maybe they were high enough level not to care if the noise they made attracted anything to their position. It was too late to move now and you freeze in place, allowing the effects of your Fade into Shadow to kick in. You hope it’s enough to keep you hidden if you do have the bad luck of running across a higher level hero.
