Battling against Dewford Town's gym leader.

"Alright, let's get this over with... Why is it dark in here?" asked Jade, as she proceeds to ask the guy next to her. "Why is this gym dark in here?" asked Jade. "Oh, the gym is naturally that somehow, but every time you defeat a gym trainer, the gym will start to light up again." said the guy next to Jade. "Oh, thanks for telling me, I should be careful about hitting the walls now." said Jade. "No worry, you can see the wall four tiles before you get hit." said the guy next to Jade. "Oh thanks for telling me that." said Jade, before she starts going on the maze, during the maze she battle 3 other gym trainers, but it's just a pushover for Sophie, except for the battle girl's Meditite as they kept on using Detect and protect themselves with Sophie's confusion, but still. Jade manages to defeat them in battle, then she come face to face against the gym leader.

"Well looks like you are a strong trainer in my eyes, my name is Brawly and I'm the Dewford's Gym Leader." said Brawly. "I've been churned in the rough waves of these parts, and I've grown tough in the pitch-black cave!" said Brawly. "So that is why your gym is a pitch-black maze." said Jade. "That's right, so you wanted to challenge me. Let me see what you're made of!" said Brawly, as he summons his level 17 Machop, to battle against Jade's level 15 Sophie the Ralts. "Sophie use Confusion!" said Jade, as Sophie hits Machop with a super effective weak telekinetic attack. "Machop use Bulk Up!" said Brawly, as Machop starts bulking up to prepare for his next attack, but Sophie hits Machop with another super effective weak telekinetic attack, and this time it completely knocks him down. "Well then, Makuhita let's go!" said Brawly as he summons a level 18 Makuhita to replace his level 17 Machop. "Sophie use Confusion!" said Jade, as Sophie again hits Makuhita with a super effective weak telekinetic attack, that instantly one hit Ko-ed the Makuhita. "Whoah, wow! You made a much bigger splash than I expected! You swamped me!" said Brawly, as he returns his Makuhita back to its Pokéball.

"Okay, you've got me. Take this Gym Badge!" said Brawly, as he gives Jade the Knuckle Badge. "Yes, I got the Knuckle Badge!" said Jade. "You will be able to use the HM move Flash outside of battle." said Brawly. "If you'd like, use this Technical Machine, too." said Brawly, as he gives Jade the TM08 Bulk Up. "That TM08 contains Bulk Up. It's a move that raises both Attack and Defense stats." said Brawly. ""I can see your talent becoming a giant wave to cause a storm of astonishment among Trainers one day!" said Brawly. "Thanks for complementing me, but I have bigger things to do now." said Jade, as she leaves the gym satisfied with the recent gym battle.
