Batman Beyond 2.0

Author's note: This will be an AU of Justice League Unlimited, following the events of the season two finale "Epilogue".

Background: Terry McGinnis breaks into the high-security home of Amanda Waller. He confronts her and demands answers. She seems unsurprised to see him.

Months earlier, when Batman I/Bruce Wayne was suffering kidney failure and needed a tissue donor to clone new organs, Terry was tested and found to be perfectly compatible. Surprised, Terry had his DNA checked and was found to be Bruce's genetic son.

Waller then tells Terry the truth: she was the mastermind, not Bruce. After the Cadmus Crisis, Waller went from being the Justice League's chief antagonist to its ally. Waller used her old Project Cadmus contacts to launch Project Batman Beyond. She uses nanobots to overwrite his father's reproductive DNA with that of Batman's. A year later, Terry was born, genetically the son of his mother and Batman.

"The world needs a Batman...and it always will," Amanda concluded.

"And you got your wish. Happy now, aren't you?" Terry angrily stood up, turning back to leave.

But one sentence stopped him.

"Do you want to hear how to solve Bruce's kidney failure?"

Terry immediately turned back to face the old woman: "What do you mean?"

"I said there is a way to help Bruce without an organ donor."

Amanda slowly stood up, opened a drawer, took out a picture, and handed it to Terry. He was shocked.

Amanda: "This is what I called Project Batman Beyond 2.0."
