Bathtime

"Tommy?"

In walked Miss Jamie Jolly. People usually laugh when she tells them her name, finding it hard to believe that this was her genuine birth name. She was a woman somewhere between 30 and 40, plump with rosy cheeks, big-framed glasses, large earrings, acrylic nails that could claw your eyes out and a rats nest for hair. If stereotypes applied to real life, she would either be your Jewish mother or your aunt from the 80's.

"There you are! Today's the big day! Are you excited?"

Tommy hugged his stuffy and continued to suck on his borrowed binky, only giving the briefest of nods. She bent over to give his cheek a kiss and grabbed his free hand to help him stand up.

"Phew. I smell a stinky baby. Come on. We'll get you all cleaned up. Can't have you talking to your new guardians with poop in your pants."

Tommy awkwardly waddled as she dragged him down the hall to the bathroom.

The facility actually had three bathrooms: the adult bathroom, the changing room and the bathing room. While the changing room had everything one would need to change the diaper of a baby of every age, the bathing room had its own changing station to help undress babies out of used diapers.

She helped Tommy onto the table and threw both his t-shirt and plushie into the laundry hamper to be laundered later. With practiced precision, Miss Jolly wiped down Tommy's shaved diaper area, cleaning it of its filth before balling up the used diaper and throwing it into the diaper genie. She helped him off of the changing table, now completely naked save for his pacifier.

She filled the nearby bathtub with warm water, the top layer a thick foam of bubbles thanks to a helping of Barney the Dinosaur bubble-bath.

"Alright. Pick your bath toys and I'll come back shortly to help get you cleaned up."

Tommy wordlessly replied by picking a small toy turtle from a nearby toy basket and let himself into the bathtub. Normally, leaving your baby unattended in a bathtub was frowned upon, but Tommy was an adult baby, so Miss Jolly bathing him was more of a formality and she didn't have to worry as much.
