He wants the feisty, young redhead to be his Alice!

He sets a trap using all of the information that he can gather with his large group of card-controlled Slaves across the City.

Over the course of a week, they find out where she tends to stop crimes early in the evening.
The criminal underworld loves chatter, so it is easy to get the times and places.

The Mad Hatter makes his move, hoping that the information he has is accurate.

A controlled woman is 'being mugged' by a controlled man.
They keep up the show until someone interferes.

Sure enough, Batgirl leaps down into action from a fire escape, kicking the man.

He gets up to keep fighting, to keep the charade up, and gets in close.

As he's thrown into a nearby Garbage Can, he manages to expose her to some feint powder that his clothing is coated in.

Batgirl sees him down- he was programmed to stay down after the exposure- and goes to the woman.

Something is *off* about her, but Batgirl moves is nonetheless, grabbing her purse along the way.

"You're safe now, ma'am," she says, "It looks like everything is still here."

She opens the purse to check and a blast of blue powder shoots into her face.

"What the?!?"
She tries to rub it off.
"Just what is....going...on...he-ere."

The combination of powders knocks her out and she falls into the woman's arms.

Jervis watches all of this through her eyes and smiles as the man returns to help take Batgirl away.
