Chapter 7 by Felix715 Felix715

What are her days going to be?

Basics and refinement

Looking over the schedule, Iris groans at learning how her days would be spent. Seducing Arthur into marrying her was one thing, being **** to take on this workload was something else. Etiquette class in the morning, followed by arithmetic, and literature before lunch. Finishing the day with grammar, economics, and finally athletics.

"That's not so bad." Victoria consoles her. "At least we have grammar class together."

"And, if you want, I can speak to my coach about having you moved to the golf class at the end of the day. I know it's not the most exciting but it's a relaxing way to end your day." Arthur offers.

"Thanks." Iris says. "That would be a nice way to end my day." She gently places a hand on Arthur's arm, giving him her sweetest smile.

Arthur's face turns a little red to match his hair and he rubs the back of his head. "Yeah. We can stop by his office now if you want."

Victoria smirks at her brother's nervous behavior. "Why don't you two go do that. I have to go see Mrs. Shaw about swimming this year. We can all meet back up for lunch." She suggests.

Arthur raises a hand as if to protest but is interrupted before he can say anything. "That would be wonderful. Wouldn't it Arthur." Iris cheers, entwining her arm around his, like before, worrying she may be laying it on a little thick.

Arthur offers no protest and only smiles as his twin sister practically skips out of the office leaving him alone with a girl he hadn't seen in eight years. "I guess we are off to the athletics building out back." He tells her, leading the way.

"So how do you like it here at the school?" Iris asks. She knew being interested in a boys opinions and interest was the best way to get one interested in you. With so many other girls around, she began to doubt if she could pull this off. She would have to utilize any trick she could think of.

"It's ok." Arthur admits. "Much better than the last one we attended. At least here they give us some freedom and the campus is big enough I don't see Victor every day."

"Oh, how is Victor doing these days? Still..." She feigns interest.

"A controlling ass? Yeah." Arthur interrupts. "Aside from that, his grades are good. He is one of the stars of the debate team. He studies law and wants to become a lawyer after graduating."

Iris couldn't help but be a little impressed. Victor had always been a jerk, to put it lightly, but becoming a lawyer suited him. He definitely had the confidence and temperament for it. "Oh." Was all she dared to say on the subject. Asking about Victor may have been a mistake. "But how are things for you? I hear you're a rather good golfer." She tries to lighten his mood.

"I do ok." Arthur shrugs. "I almost held the lead spot last year. I hope to get it this time around." He grins.

Iris was glad to see the change in attitude. "That's great. You don't have to give me lessons if you don't want to Arthur. But I would appreciate it." She shoots him her best smile, trying to play on his generosity.

"For an old friend, it would be my pleasure." Arthur straightens his back feeling like a hero. "Especially after this morning." He bares his teeth in a mock frown of shame.

"It's ok. I know you were just trying to protect Victoria." Iris forgives him despite the fact her nose still felt sore from the incident. "It's actually quite charming when you think about it."

To the athletics building?
