Barely...

Marie held her blade aloft, and instantly went on the defensive. The fast strikes from the spider were dodged and blocked as best as she could muster, and Marie's blade flashed and swung in wide arcs. This monster was not totally focused on just breeding her, and it was obvious in its total commitment to actually hurting her. Its legs and fangs constantly moved towards her, and Marie was finding it harder and harder to defend against the many attacks. Being pushed from the terminals to a nearby wall, Marie realized that the creature was pushing her against the walls to trap her in like easy prey.

Judging the various swipes and slashes, Marie looked for a gap in the creatures attack and immediately rolled under to get more distance from it. Completely successful in the roll, Marie bounced back up and decided to go for a quick attack against the backside of the spider-like monster. The quick slash against it apparently hit something vital, and the creature squealed in anger as part of its chitin fizzled and burned. A **** swing from an appendage was easily dodged by Marie, and she followed up with another counter-attack. With a flash of power, her blade cut through another vital part, this time closer to the 'neck'. Another horrific squeal and the creature tumbled back from the attack.

Not wanting to lose her advantage, Marie pressed her attack, quickly swiping off a leg and more. A few more well-timed strikes and the creature was still against the ground, its blood and ichor loose on the floor. Breathing heavily from the fight itself, Marie practically collapsed against a nearby wall and tried to prop herself up as best as she could. She had lost a lot of her own energy, and her already damaged RIG was starting to malfunction. Her blade had also lost a lot of power, and she was in danger of losing both armor and weapon. She would need to replace both in due time, or she wouldn't stand a chance.

After resting for some time, Marie finally stood up and hastily continued her repair job on the second terminal. With the monster dealt with, communications would be back up, albeit only short-distance. Even still, she would be able to get ahold of Samson, and hopefully find a way to reconnect.
