Where are we?
Bank robbery
"Witnesses report one suspect, a white male in his early thirties," a voice on the police radio reported. "He has blonde hair, blue eyes and a black duffel bag."
Cobb parked his cruiser at the rear of a line of emergency response vehicles, slightly down the street from one of the local banks. I could make out at least two dozen police officers taking cover behind vehicles closer to the front of the line as a man yelled at the bank through a loud speaker.
"Sorry about this, baby, I will make it up to you," Cobb said as he climbed out of the car and ran towards the front.
It seemed like an eternity passed of nothing happened but more yelling through the megaphone. I was trapped in the back of a police car with my hands cuffed behind my back, unable to free myself or get away.
Some time later there was a loud boom from the direction of the bank, and suddenly the line of police officers broke cover and ran towards the bank. I was on the edge of my seat, trying to see what happened next when the driver's door opened.
"Excuse me, darlin'," a tall, very good looking blonde guy said as he climbed in, tossing a black duffel bag in the front passenger seat. Part of the zipper was open and inside I could see stacks of cash. "I'm gonna have to borrow your ride for a bit."
He started the car, put it in reverse and drove away. I watched in desperation as all of the officers on the scene were too busy trying to get to the bank to notice us.
A few blocks from the bank he turned on the blue lights and accelerated.
I had just been kidnapped by a bank robber! It felt like a movie.
"Don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you," he said, and I believed him. "I just needed a car and yours was at the back of the line. Let me get to my other vehicle and we can go our separate ways." Then he smiled. "Unless you want to hangout with the tri-state's newest millionaire."
