Bake Kujiras are a type of spirits that come from dead aquatic manomo.

After the expulsion of the demon lord to the dephts of tartarus, most aquatic manomo were left behind on the upper world due to the lack of water in the underground. They had to fight for their lives as the Order tried to hunt them down, killing many in the process and leaving small populations of manomo still scattered across the world’s oceans, that went into hinding ever since.

Because of the harshness of their lifes, some of them were **** to become fierce warriors that pledge their lifes to protect the seas. The majority of the bake kujira originate from the **** of these soldiers, but they rarely manifested during the age of man due to the lack of magic in the world. But when the monsters returned to the surface, the magic in the world began to slowly recharge itself, allowing this spirits to fufill their duties once more.

A aquatic manomo can turn into a Bake kujira if it passed away in a horrific ****, leaving mental scars on the manomo's soul, or if the manomo dedicated her whole life in protecting the ocean and it's inhabitants.

Any manono that belongs to the sea can turn into a Bake kujira, but even those that live in rivers or lakes can turn into them as well. Bake kujiras differentiate from the normal undead because they are conected to the ocean's magic and life ****.

Since a Baku kujira is a spirit, she is no longer restricted to move inside water, being also capable of flying in the air and go on land. However, they cannot get very far from a body of water, since it's the water's magic that enables the them to manifest.

Bake kujiras are protectors of the oceans and rivers, and will attack anyone who tries to damage them, like polluting or hunting aquatic manomo. They are able to control the water around their enemies as weapons or even possess their bodies, making the enemies hurt and kill themselve or their comrades.

They are not dependent to human’s mana, since their powers come directly from the sea. But they can still have romantic relationships with humans or other manomo, prefering those who are kind and gentle, and will convince their loved ones in entering the water with them. Her lover can spend the rest of his or her life making love with Bake kujiras inside the water, as she can sustain them both with her magic.

A Bake kujira can also move on, leaving to the astral plane when she realizes that her job on earth has finished. When they are about to move on, they can drag their loved ones to the astral plane with them, making the person dissapear out of thin air.
