Backfires, literally

"So that's the story" said Ash as he finished explaining everything to Clemont.

"Interesting. I've never heard of a divice with that kind of power before" said Clemont.

"I don't know if I should use it. It doesn't ruin their lives, but it still messes with their heads" said Ash.

"Well, it seems that the remote can only alter things that were already in the realm of possibility" said Clemont. Ash just stared blankly at him.

"Yeah, you lost me" he said.

"I wonder" said Clemont as he tried to open the back of the remote. Clemont was then shocked by a strong electrical charge and thrown backwards.

"Clemont, are you ok" exclaimed Ash as he ran over to his friend.

"Yeah, I'm fine. We both know I've taken worse" said Clemont as Ash helped him up. Then Ash noticed the remote.

"Clemont, I'm so sorry. This is really bad" said Ash.

"It is, interesting. I suppose I should keep a log. But at least my life outside the house will be uneffected" said Clemont.

"I don't know what to do" said Ash.

"Just keep pushing forward. We'll figure something out" said Clemont.

"Ok" said Ash with a smile.
