Back to the real world

Seeing Kayden, Riley, and Melissa's worried faces, I wished for my temperature to be normal again, but gradually.

And it worked like a charm.

My body began going back to normal, and before long, my temperature was back to normal. The relief on the faces of my girls was good to see, but there was confusion on their faces.

"Daddy, are you alright? You had us worried there for a few minutes." said Riley. She was wearing nothing but a t-shirt and panties. To her side, Melissa was dressed similarly.

But my attention was drawn to Kayden, who still had tears in her eyes.

"Leave us alone girls, there's something I need to talk to your mother about" I said.

I could see that Riley and Melissa were about to protest, so I cut them short and said "Girls, I promise I am alright. I really need to talk to your mother. It is 3 AM, go back to bed. We will talk in the morning, alright?"

With resigned looks on their faces, the girls left our bedroom. Once I heard their door shut, I looked at my wife.

"I need to tell you something" I said.
