"...I forgot that I took my shirt off!" said the tinny voice on the phone. Erica chuckled wryly as she watched the encounter play out sitting next to Andrew on the couch

"That poor girl just wanted to have sex with you," she said when the video finished.

"That poor girl was you," Andrew pointed out. "And I did fuck her before we started filming."

"That explains why I feel like I just got fucked," the professor said as she adjusted her skirt. "Would you like to try me as a sexbot next?"

"Nah." He put an arm around her bare torso and drew her close. "I think I like you the best."

"Aren't you sweet," Erica replied. "I'm glad I rate higher than the worst impression of a college student I've ever seen. Now, do you have any needs that I can attend to?"

"I'm still in the refractory period," he said with a sigh.

She stood curtly. "Good! I've got some grading to catch up on since you took me out of commission most of last night."

"So you just stay here? All the time?" Andrew was genuinely curious. "Fuck the grading, I wanna hear about this."

Erica shrugged and sat back down next to him. He put a hand on her exposed tit and she raised an eyebrow but continued.

"Yes, I and the other golems stay here all the time. The faculty know that we're golems, but they've signed a strict NDA - it's still considered unseemly in academic circles to let golems teach your classes. They help maintain the fiction that we have lives outside of the office."

"Other golems?" Andrew asked, slowly circling her nipple with his thumb. It hardened under his touch and he felt a stirring in his shorts. "Who else?"

"In this department it's just me and Professor Mehdi."

Andrew was astonished. "Holy shit! Mehdi's a golem?" Professor Mehdi was known as one of the harshest teachers in the department. Every spring his Calculus III course resulted in several dropouts or changed majors.

She nodded. "That's right. The university wanted to experiment with a sort of good cop/bad cop routine to see which style had better outcomes. It's a lot easier to quantify that sort of thing if you can program the personalities."

"So your whole personality - the kindness, encouragement, friendliness..."

"All part of an experiment," Erica confirmed. "Obviously my primary objective is to educate students to the best of my ability, but I'm also providing the university with valuable data."

"How long is the experiment going to last?" Andrew asked. He hadn't thought about the possibility that they might change her script.

"Right now it's ongoing indefinitely. We're cheaper and better than most real professors, only requiring occasional maintenance."

"Maintenance?" Andrew prompted. He had stopped rubbing her nipple and his previously unbridled enthusiasm was now tempered with concern.

"A company technician comes, checks the script, makes sure everything's still ok," she said. "It's once a semester. My next one is Wednesday."

"Oh, shit," Andrew said. "Are they gonna figure out what we did?"

She chuckled. "Of course they will! It's not subtle, Andrew. You're going to be in a lot of trouble."

"Why didn't you say something earlier?" he demanded.

"I'm programmed to obey you and to maintain a professional demeanor in my relationship with you," she explained patiently. "There's nothing in my script about saving you from your own bad decisions."

Andrew was already trying to navigate his phone with shaking fingers. He dialed a number and held it to his ear. After a few rings, Ross picked up.

"We've got a problem," Andrew told him.
