Back to the grind.

After morning preparations, you head down into the living room to be greeted by the booming, energetic voice of Niki. She has her mace out, and is swinging it dramatically with her words. The girl is in a strangely good mood, and determination shines in her eyes. However, it's way too much for the morning. You don't know how she does it.

"There you are, Kyle!" she says

You look around to see the others sitting around, munching on what's left of the food they had on their plates. Another, which has a sandwich sitting on it, awaits you on the table in front of the sofa. You sit down and lift it, and notice a bite mark on the front.

When you scan the others now, Eva blushes and looks away. You sigh and sink your teeth in anyway.

"So what's up?" you ask Niki as you eat.

"I'm just eager for some adventure! I'm tired of these balls, and shopping, and things. We need to do a quest. Clear a dungeon. Something that'll fill our coin purses and grind up our levels to new heights. We'll slay a couple dragons, and before we know it, we'll be a hundred levels up."

You chew for a moment of silence. "Is that how it works?"

"Sure! Why not?"

You turn to Eva. "Can you explain to me the whole levelling thing? It might surprise you that we don't exactly have that sorta thing on my world."

She takes a gulp of water form a wooden mug and exhales deeply. "I guess that makes sense... Theoretically, the reason we have levels is due to a power stemming back to the God of Adventure, simply known as Goa. He or she, depending on who you ask, is what all adventurers look up to, whether or not he's their patron deity or not."

Amara nods. "Indeed. Paying respect to one that grants us power to help others is exceptionally important. But I also pray to the God of Life, Gol."

"Very unique names. Not confusing at all," you respond.

"Nobody knows their names for certain."

"Goa's my kinda lady," Niki says. "I bet she's a lady anyway. One that kicks some serious ass. Speaking of which, get off yours already. We have a quest to get!"
